LLOYD BANKS is the next superstar after 50 !!!!!
« on: September 29, 2003, 09:59:47 PM »
Gotta be among the best debuts on the "mainstream" hiphop scene without releasing a album..

First he made 50 and Eminem look like bystanders on "Don't push me", and then he had the best verse on "We all die one day", plus he killed the chorus..
Both on firstclass Eminem-beats.. hopefully Em will do beats for Banks solo.

"Don't push me":

[Lloyd Banks]
I done lost my bigger nigga, and I didn't cry
Too young to understand, the consequences of 'em then
Livin' a lie (lie), I gotta get that money I'll be damned if I'm bummy
Gotta watch my back around these niggas, cause they funny
20 years, of watching my mama's tears got me heated, heavily weeded
Smoking that bong, cause I need it
These niggas don't want me ballin', they want me buried
Balled in the dirt, from shots flurried
Layin' with bugs under my shirt
I got plans to hop up in that Hummer
'Cause I'm a stunner, I sit back and wonder
When them angels gon call my number under
My chest is a heart of a lion I ain't lying
Bounty hunters got me flyin' with my iron, high as a giant
I'm runnin' from nothin', my stomach is touchin', what I'm clutchin'
To give you more than a concussion, end of discussion
My blood is colder, so I'm bolder
Hennessey and soda, hood on my shoulder
Look in the mirror, I see a soldier

"We all die one day":

[Chorus: Lloyd Banks]
Niggaz know what I'm about out here
I don't toot my own horn cause I don't have to
You could run your mouth I don't care
But if you get too close I'm gon' clap you
It's too real out here to be scared
A real nigga gonna do whatever he has to
A man is the last thing you should fear
It ain't considered a crime unless they catch you
We all die one day

[Lloyd Banks]
But as long as I'm here I'm gonna grab checks
And make my cash stretch longer than giraffe necks
Poverty make yo ass bet
My words touch niggaz in jail make them wanna finish they last sent'
They say you live by the gun, you die by the next nigga gun
If thats the case then get a bigga one
You don't think I pack the pump cause I'm out the hood
That's a stereotype like everybody that's black and +jump+
I'm in the white mink the fabric is done
Got rings like Mike, Bird, Magic, and them
Out in Dallas in the palace where the Mavericks is from
Living lavish I'm established, so the cabbage'll come
I'm in the cloud you don't see me on the trains
I travel first class you aint even got a TV on your plane
You should be easy on my name cause I aint going back and forth
Your boss and your captain soft

This kid is gonna get BIG, and with 50 on his team.. unstoppable.

He kills everyone he raps with on various freestyles. "Mo' Money In The Bank" is tight as fucc IMO. If he gets the right production behind him, as well as the right promotion, he has a chance to do bigger things than 50 himself.

im not a big fan of 50 or g-unit...but fuck...lloyd banks is one skilled muthafucka...i gotta agree with jome...he kills everyone he raps with. i would say hes one of the most talents mothafuckas in the game right now. although i still think his best verse he's ever dropped was a few years ago on the "Victory" freestyle w/ 50 cent...that shit was fuckin ill

He won't blow up.
His style doesn't appeal to people at all and he'll always stay in 50's shadow.  :-\

He needs to learn to speak up on the mic. Put some life into his voice. Other than that, he's no different than Joe Budden and Fabolous, lyrically. They all got the same style punchlines and metaphors.

Joe Budden and Fabolous? HAHA. Banks eats those wacc dudes alive lyrically. Although I see wha'chu mean with his voice, but I'm feelin' that low, grimey sound of his. I think he can blow up f'sho.

I think he would be better in a group atmosphere than as a solo artist.  I'm not sure how well he could handle a whole album by himself.

Budden got some dope concepts, but he's still wack. Fab doesn't really come with concepts, but he at least has enough charisma in his flow. I can't speak on Banks' concepts, because I've never heard any. All the tracks I've heard him on have been the same shoot em up bang bang style that Fab did before him.

Check his solo tracks, and mixtapes..
If Obie can do a solo on his own, Banks is 10 times better suited to do it.

Word.
Exactly what they said about 50.
Look at how that went.

And LoL @ the Fab/Budden comparisons..
The only similarity is that they're all from N.Y. and all hot on mixtapes.
Btw, Fabolous went platinum twice didn't he, with less skill and charisma than Banks.

One thing I can't say I've heard is a true Lloyd Banks solo song.  That's what I'm waiting to hear, not just some freestyle over an instrumental or a remake.

And I think that the difference between Obie Trice and Banks is that Obie's got a nicer voice & delivery, and that's why I'd figure he'd be better at a solo album.

agreed...i would love to hear a true banks solo...as far as saying he wont blow up cuz his style doesnt appeal to everybody...are you crazy?...i've heard like 1 person say they werent feeling his style...and he cant live in 50's shadow if nobody knows hes in it in the first place...besides the true rap fans...if ppl just hear him on the radio nobody is gonna go "oh that dudes in with 50"...they havent promoted him at all...i think his success will depend on how they promote him...yes i think it will have a huge effect on his career if they promote him to be with 50 on everything...but if they say fuck 50 and just put out some solo shit...dont really mention 50 when they talk to him in interviews and shit...he'll do the same shit 50 did on a much deeper and better level.
