Zack De La Rocha Solo Album News (real heads, check this)

Expect a massive departure from Zack De La Rocha's work with Rage Against The Machine.

Most of the tracks have been recorded apparently, and Zack De La Rocha is just choosing which to include on the album.

It is to feature producers/collaborators: DJ Muggs (Cypress Hill), DJ Shadow, ?uestlove (The Roots), El-P, Trent Reznor (Nine Inch Nails), Roni Size, DJ Premier (Gang Starr) & Dan The Automator.

The nine tracks recorded with ?uestlove have been described ?uestlove as "dangerous", very fast and scary drum n' bass, with weird Moog synth lines and even a theremin. The tracks with El-P do not have El-P rapping. DJ Muggs only recorded one track. The tracks with Trent Reznor are being recorded at Nothing Studios in New Orleans. DJ Shadow says Trent Reznor is producing the bulk of the album. Dan The Automator described the production on the 8 tracks he did for the album as "kind of like if the Country Bear Jamboree was angry" and focusing on Zack De La Rocha's "Judy Garland side". One of the many tracks DJ Shadow did with Zack De La Rocha, 'Disavowed', is on DJ Shadow's single/EP for You Can't Go Home Again. The credits: co-written by DJ Shadow & Zack De La Rocha, additional production and live drums by Zack De La Rocha. So I guess Zack De La Rocha  will be doing more than vocals on this album.

DJ Shadow says he finished a total of three tracks for the album. According to a recent interview, some of the older tracks DJ Shadow did together will make the album. While this is heartening in a sense, it's also frustrating because some of the great music Zack De La Rocha has recorded since he began the project in 1997 apparently will go unheard.
