jome is there a way to ignore or block all those spam messages that pop up (mostly on efnet). everytime i leave my comp on to finish a download and get back at the end of the day i got like 235324 windows open full of spam messages which is fucking annoying

Yeah, after 454324 spam messages I decided to find the perfect solution..

1. Download "Anti Spam" from here:

2. Copy the "Spam" folder into your mIRC directory.
Then in mirc, type: "/load -rs spam\spam.mrc"
(Right-click channel or msg window, and press "Anti-spam" for config & turning on/off.)

3. For blocking 99.9% of all spam messages, copy/paste the following text into the file spam/spamwords.txt :

This will block near all spam, but once a new webpage is being advertised, just add it's URL into "Choose spamwords" in mirc:

when i download a video and iopen it says check that this is valid mpeg or avi file, btw im using divx.

Try getting the proper codecs.
If you have the right codec, your computer will play anything..

Yeh, Rizon pretty much took shit over, and other networks like BarArcade & FreshIRC trying to blow as well..
Check the "join multiple servers" part of the guide to join other networks at the same time.

According to the "100 Biggest Channels on mIRC" list, I think EFNet have 0 or 1 of them.. lol
All the good channels on EFNet disappeared, but a few new started, peep the "Biggest channels on EFNet" list.

nah, that wasn't what I was talking about.  I think there was some kind of "flood" or something that kicked everybody off Efnet. When I logged on later in the day everything was back to normal (except I lost my place in queue)

Btw, Jome,  have you been having problems logging onto the Nsane server?  I couldn't connect for about a week now.  Criten is also connecting only from time to time.

Happens from time to time, due to unstable servers/too much traffic/script kiddies.

EFNet is slowly getting worse, locked channels means that they have nothing to offer any more.

I am trying to install dccassist to my mIRC, but cant figure out what I'm doing wrong. I d/l it from dccassist.com and i the readme file but whe it asks this:

Extract dccAssist.mrc from the zip file either into your mIRC directory, or create a
subfolder for it, then launch mIRC and type.

/load -rs1 dccAssist.mrc

If you installed into a subfolder, include that path in the above command.

I dont know where to the command in mIRC??? I extracted the file and put it in my mIRC directory, but dont know what to do now. Can someone help me with this problem...thx.

If you have put the Dccassist file into your mirc-folder, you can type:
/load -rs1 dccAssist.mrc
in any channel, and DCCAssist will load.. answer "yes" to the question you get..

According to that message error, you only wrote "-rs1 dccAssist.mrc"
Don't forget the /load part.

/load -rs1 dccAssist.mrc (Hit enter)

I just need to type  /!load & before I was typing it without the !.
