Basically.

BTW, Here's a topic I started in the other section, it's a G.Q. article from 1994 with all the juicy details of how Michael was set up by the first kid, if anybody cares to read it.

http://www.dubcnn.com/connect/index.php?board=1;action=display;threadid=44518;start=0#lastPost

It chronicles all the crazy shit that happened, the evidence in Michael's favor that was never  brought to trial, etc.  Awesome read if you want to know the entire story, and it's actually fairly unbiased.

i just read a big chunk of that..

the problem is.. lowest common demoninator (demonising?) media ( read : tabloids).. always throw these accusations around, but never cleans up after themselves responsibly, this is why the stigma remains.

Exactly! They say whatever they want, and then never finish the story.  For instance, they didn't bother to mention that the D.A. in 1994 interviewed 30 children from Michael Jackson's phone book, and nearly 200 additional witnesses, and couldn't get 1 person to corroborate that he had ever molested anyone.

I guess the support is coming out now.

Alicia Keys was interviewed by somebody, and said she didn't think he did it, and "I feel offended at the way the media is handling a man who really has been a major force in American culture since the day he was born, virtually," Keys told reporters. "I really think that he deserves more respect."

Puff Daddy apparently also said something about Michael being framed.

Lionel Richie's daughter (who's Michael's Goddaughter) said she'd slept with him before and he never did anythign strange (of course she's a girl, lol).

"It was like, absolutely nothing more than just an adult kind of wanting to be a kid again," she told the Access Hollywood entertainment television show on Thursday.

LL Cool J said "I'm a fan. I support him a hundred zillion per cent. Until I see evidence, I'm not going to be convinced. I'm not going to be brainwashed."

Jermaine Jackson - "He is innocent. This is nothing but a modern-day lynching,"

Rick James (the superfreak!) said "He's black, rich and famous, and they have nothing better to do,"

Jesse Jackson said "Michael deserves due process, the newsrooms should remain objective and the global community must not hasten to judgment," he said, branding the raid by up to 70 investigators on Jackson's Neverland Ranch as "overkill".

Elizabeth Taylor - ''I thought the law was 'innocent until proven guilty.' I know he is innocent and I hope they all eat crow.''

The Woman who was Barry Rothman's secretary (Rothman is the one who sued Jackson with the first kid) is about to release a book saying it was a setup!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

New Book Detailing 'The Truth' About Allegations 10 Years Ago
Geraldine Hughes, the former secretary of Barry Rothman (Accusers lawyer) decides to go public about the conspiracy behind the allegations against Michael Jackson in 1993.

The book, entitled: Redemption: The Truth Behind the Michael Jackson Child Molestation Allegations, includes details of the events that took place that prove "beyond a shadow of doubt" Michael's innocence.

When discussing with MJNI, Geraldine Hughes states: "As far as the book, I am revealing facts that has never come to the public's attention which will prove Michael Jackson's innocence beyond a shadow of doubt. If Sneddon was really searching for the truth in this case in 1993, how did the sole secretary of Barry Rothman go completely unnoticed? Geraldine then goes on to say, "The book was originally called 'The Set-Up.' It is now called 'Redemption....'."

The book has been in the making since 1997, and is due for a January 2004 release.

Annnnnnd, One of the Largest music promoters in the business doesn't believe it.

Ex-promoter: Michael cares too much

L.A. PARKER , Staff Writer
11/23/2003

A former Michael Jackson music promoter with ties to Trenton told The Trentonian that he believes the King of Pop incapable of hurting another human being and that his generosity attracts scam artists.

Pete Bennett, 55, who Billboard magazine referred to as "The World’s No. 1 Promotion Man’’ called painful the recent televised arrest of Jackson but so riveting that he could not turn away.

"It was terrible to see Michael arrested and a shame that they put him in handcuffs. He didn’t kill anybody. Whatever happened about being innocent until proven guilty,’’ asked Bennett.

"The problem with Michael is that he cares too much about people. And even though it seems to get him in trouble, I don’t think there is anything that anyone can say, not his family or advisers, that will ever change him. Michael is always going to be Michael. And he always will be an easy mark,’’ said Bennett.

Bennett, who represents Trenton pop-rock musician Duke Williams, owns a former client list that includes The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Elvis Presley, Janet Jackson and her sibling stars, The Jackson 5. He has worked with Aerosmith and U2 and boasts of a future collaboration with Bruce Springsteen.

Bennett, born Pietro Benedetto in the Bronx, signed Michael and his brothers on with CBS’ Epic Records in the mid-1970s. Bennett is also a close friend of Trenton casting director, Roz Clancy.

Beverly Johnson, a model, actress and writer, was the first black model ever to grace the cover of Vogue magazine in August 1974. She appeared on more than 500 magazine covers, including Glamour. Bennett said that Jackson had the hots for the sultry, black star.

"He had an eye for pretty girls, especially Johnson. She was about 25 and Michael was 16. But Beverly, I believe was dating Arthur Ashe at the time,’’ Bennett said.

"Often when I would be in his company, Michael would point a girl out and admire her looks or figure.

"I don’t know when people started believing that Michael had a thing for young boys. Does he like kids? Yes, he’s always been that way. Michael has always been playful and thoughtful.’’

And shy, almost to a fault, according to Bennett.

"He was always with his mother or reading the Bible. And often he had two birds, a parrot and a crow on his shoulder. He was a nice, quiet kind of kid.’’

Bennett called Jackson’s alleged out-of-court settlement with his first young accuser a strategic victory, one that many celebrities would have opted for in a similar situation.

"I do believe Michael paid the boy’s family because he didn’t want to go through a major media scene, an investigation and court hearing,’’ claimed Bennett.

Bennett called Jackson a media magnet whose eccentric habits will eternally attract criticism and money-grabbers.

"His talent, facial surgery, holding the baby over the balcony railing, whatever Michael does is news,’’ he said.

"Look at what happened when he went out on the Las Vegas strip after being arrested. People love him and I don’t think that will ever change.’’

"What I find hard to believe is that if Michael is this pedophile, then where are all the other boys. Pedophilia is not something that you turn on and off. That’s the one thing that seems unbelievable and I think strengthens Michael’s case.’’

But despite Bennett’s adamant support for Jackson, there is an iota of doubt.

"When 60 or 70 investigators visit three of his residences they must have something. They must know something that nobody else knows. But I hope not. I pray not for Michael’s sake,’’ he said.

Bennett expects the Jackson trial to be larger than the O.J. Simpson trial. He called the potential world audience a promoter’s dream.

"I would say a situation like this is great from a promoter’s point of view. The whole world will be watching. And even if Michael if found guilty, I don’t think his career is over,’’ predicted Bennett.

"The guy is an institution. It will be interesting to see how this next chapter in his life turns out.’’

^^ I believe there's no way to stop it from going to trial, unless the D.A.'s office and Sheriff's office drop charges (I.E., the kid admits it didn't happen, or whatever).  Even if the kid decides not to pursue the charges, the D.A. will likely attempt to force him to, under new California law.  That's a stupid law, however, because the 5th ammendment provides that you don't have to testify in court if you don't want to.  They can't make the kid do anything, but even if the kid says it didn't happen, they could still push a case (which Michael could easily defend by saying the Kid has said it didn't happen).

^ Yeah, the asshole Tom Sneddon D.A. held a fucking press conference (which is shady in the first place, when do you hold a press conference about a child molestor?)... Did you catch it in Britian? The motherfucker was making jokes and cracking lines the whole time, like it was a big party or something.  "Um, I think Michael Jackson said we released it on the day of his album to try and sabotage his album sales... like me and the Sheriff actually listen to that kind of music"

That fucker ACTUALLY said that.  He then went on to say he hadn't thought about Michael Jackson in years, when a quick search of the net will show that Tom Sneddon has made dozens of interviews since the 93 case, all the while saying that they were looking for more information to open the case, in February he released a press release begging people that may have been molested to come forward, etc. etc. etc.

Jackson's explicit letters seized

By CAROLINE GRAHAM and SHARON CHURCHER in London

November 24, 2003

EXPLICIT letters and poems said to have been written by Michael Jackson to his alleged victim will form the centrepiece of the sex-abuse case against him.

Police seized at least a dozen letters during the raid on Jackson's Neverland ranch last week.

"The district attorney is convinced these letters will be crucial to the case against Jackson," a source close to the investigation said yesterday.

"The boy told investigators about letters and poems and their precise location inside Michael's home. These letters were among the evidence seized, along with videotapes.

"They are very explicit and intimate and show a degree of familiarity. Basically, they appear to be love letters from Michael to the boy."

The accuser, 12-year-old Los Angeles cancer victim Gavin Arvizo, also told police Jackson's pet name for him was Rubba.

"The boy first told this to his therapist, then repeated it to police," the source said.

"He said Jackson called him Rubba because one of the games they used to play was called rubba rubba. The boy said, 'Michael told me he was my rubba rubba friend."'

Although police handling the case in Santa Barbara, California, have been barred from revealing any details, it is understood the alleged abuse took place in February.

Jackson is said to have befriended Gavin -- who, during a controversial British documentary screened earlier this year, admitted having shared a bed with the singer -- over a long period.

A source close to 45-year-old Jackson said: "For the past five or six years, he's taken kids from fractured homes and nurtured them as a father figure. As they get older, he teaches them fun things to do.

"Michael says he learned this from an adult when he was a teenager. No-one on his staff ever said anything. He's a tyrant. Everybody obeys the man."

Another Jackson source said: "The boy told of everything that went on and described things in Michael's closets, his bathroom, what was under his bed."

In her statements to police, Gavin's mother, Janet Ventura, has revealed that Jackson encouraged her son to call him "Daddy".

Ms Ventura has claimed she, Gavin and his two siblings were held virtual prisoners at Neverland, 100km north of Santa Barbara.

When she learned of her son's accusations of molestation -- which included claims that Jackson plied him with wine and sleeping pills -- she fled with her family in the dead of night.

A source close to district attorney Tom Sneddon, who will prosecute the case, said: "The DA is very confident with the evidence he has. This includes letters, videos and computer files. They believe they have enough to nail Jackson."

Jackson's legal team is said to be encouraging him to consider a plea bargain, possibly an insanity defence that would allow him to serve time in a state mental hospital instead of jail.

There was speculation yesterday that the singer raised his $3 million bail with the help of Miami-based Al Malnik, a lawyer for notorious gangster Meyer Lansky, who died in 1983.

Malnik reportedly began making large loans to Jackson when his career nosedived.

Malnik, 69, was cited by the New Jersey Casino Control Commission in 1980 and 1992 as a person of unsuitable character.

The prosecution source said: "It just gets weirder and weirder. Michael supposedly has financial problems, but hiring someone with Mob connections is bizarre."

Prosecutors are said to be spreading a net around the world for other alleged victims. One boy of special interest is said to be in El Salvador, another in South Africa.

They are also said to be considering quizzing the son of an English premiership footballer.

Charges of aiding and abetting are likely to be filed against members of Jackson's entourage.

At the same time as the Neverland swoop, police raided two homes in Los Angeles.

One was reportedly the residence of Marc Schaffel, a gay video producer who filmed the rebuttal tape Jackson released just after Martin Bashir's British documentary aired.

OOOH! They took letters from his house!!!

What the fuck.  Do you honestly think he wrote "oh, I like the way your penis looks" in a fucking letter than left it lying around his house?

Rubba is a stupid nickname that Michael gives about everyone in his family.  He calls his sister Janet Stinky.  I don't know where Rubba came from, but it's one of his favorite pet names to call people.  For instance, "Baby Rubba" is named as one of the cowriters of "The Lost Children" on his last album.  A friend named Rubba John Barnes is listed as playing the synthesizer on the song "Bad".  He calls half his friends this.  He also calls his youngest son Blanket.  It doesn't mean he's rubbing the kids genitals.  It just means he calls people stupid names, again, keeping in line with the theme of him acting like a kid.

Again, all his fans know little shit like this, but to everybody else it looks like he's a pervert.
