Cause I don't care where I belong no more
What we share or not I will ignore
And I won't waste my time fitting in
Cause I don't think contrast is a sin
No, it's not a sin

the album was dope but nothing mind blowing,

99 Problems
My 1st Song
Threat

were the only tracks that made me go  :o the albums solid but not contender for album of the year that has to go to

Immortal Technique or Brother Ali.

I liked the album from my first listen, and it's growin' on me more and more 8) But anyway I would never call it the best release this year. It's in my Top10, but Jigga can't fuck with Canibus, Son Doobie, Jedi Mind Tricks, etc. :P

Compared to Blueprint where every song had the soul-sampling, this cd has much more replay value.  Its just my opinion, but to me this is Jays finest cd, or at least the one which i enjoy the most.  Wasnt even a Jay z fan anymore until this dropped, glad he put some effort in the lyrics and dropped an incredible disc.......peace

i disagree...i like jay and his new cd...but to me  its theopposite....too much funk and too much this opera style...some straight hiphop tracks by dj premier would made tthis cd way better

The Black Album is hot IMO and is the most consistant album in a long time.  The subject changes for every song and the way he structured it is dope.  Plus the flow and lyrics are on point all the way through.

AND NO FEATUES

Jay Z just held an ENTIRE album down by himself.. Who does this nowadays?

I'm feelin the album.  This album is more mature than the usual Jay-Z album.  "99 Problems" is a dope song.

Black album = 2.5/5
"I have loved you," says the LORD. "Yet you say, 'In what way have you loved us?' "Was not Esau Jacob's brother?" Says the LORD. "Yet Jacob I have loved" - Malachi 1:2
