Threat is a nice beat but I really don't see how it's the best one of the year. :-X

It easily comes straight down to 2 beats.

I'm gonna say "In da Club" is #2, and the best beat of 2003 was "Like a Pimp"... that shit was WILD.  You could listen to a loop of that for a fucking year and never get tired of it.  I could watch T.V. with that playing in the background.  I could listen to that in the bathroom.

In Da Club, gotta be.

Yup. Not because it's a better beat than many others in terms of hip-hop, but because no other beat penetrated every corner of popular culture as much as this one did. Only one that came close was Beyonce's 'Crazy In Love'. Both those beats were EVERYWHERE.

Yeah, Crazy In Love was good.  The video reminded me of Diana Ross, because the whole vibe is that Beyonce is a superstar on a stage with everybody staring at her, and there's all this energy flowing around.  The little breakdown in the beat where she does the "uh oh, uh oh, uh oh, eh oh" part is nice too.

Hey WATCHER, you do realize tat all 9th wonder did was speed up an r kelly beat for Threat, right? Still dope though........

Id say Encore, with its updated Pete Rockesque production by Kanye is the beat of the year, and then i would have to go with In Da CLub.  I am NOT a big 50 fan, but you KNOW that beat would have GUARANTEED and rapper or R&B singer a number 1 hit, it is that good.

And ya, Crazy in Love DID ave a tight beat, that is true.

"I Really Mean It" off of Diplomatic Immunity, produced by Just Blaze.

But the hardest beat of the year is, undoubtedly, David Banner's "Like A Pimp". If you got a system with big speakers that shit KNOCKS.
