A lot of beats I see here are very dope but.. They're old. And every beat becomes outdated at some time, so why don't any of you choose new sounding beats?
Um....Why should we choose new sounding beats when these beats we're choosing are ALL better than anything new? They're outdated to you. Go bump some Swizz Beats.

Right now, I would choose a Kanye West beat over Deep Cover.
I love Deep Cover and the melody is still great but if we're talking about beats I wouldn't choose Deep Cover. It's like with cars, if you would ask a person what he would rather drive, a car that was the best in '92 or a car that's the best right now, he would probaly choose the last.

Diamond D - Sally
Big Pun ft Fat joe - Twinz
Del the funky homosapien - Madness
50 cent - places to go
50 cent - heat

my top 5 beats

these two would come very close and could replace any of them

Mobb Deep - Shook Ones Prt 2
NWA - Real Niggaz Dont Die

1. Dr. Dre featuring Snoop Dogg - Still D.R.E.

2. Warren G featuring Nate Dogg - Regulator

3. Mobb Deep - Shook Ones Part II

4. DMX - Intro (It's Dark and Hell is Hot)

5. Knocturnal - Bad Intentions

Just off the top of my head.. my favorites.. I haven't been into rap for more than a year years so I don't know any of the older beats I'm seeing on here. Not the best list, but I don't have time to sit down and think.

1. Bombs over baghdad-Outkast (earthtone III)
2. Deeeeez Nutzz- dre (Dr. Dre)
3. real niggaz don't die-NWA (Dr. Dre)
4. can't c me-2pac (dr. dre)
5. lose yourself -eminem (em)

1. straight up cuz it uses so many scales and complex changes. also very ballsy. the best rap beat ever

2. the best mixed rap song ever.....one of the best mixed song period as well. too many layers to name, dre at his best

3. the rise of a genius in my opinion

4. when i read a review of all eyez on me , the reviewer said that this song was g-funk times two. in other words this was a taste of where dre would've taken g-funk if he didn't have a fall out with DR and the industry . very dope and hard

5. music is suppose to envoke emotion and feelings. and in my opinion this beat does it's duty and THEN some. i like the guitar riff and the mixing of the soft and hard tones

if some of y'all are wondering why i didn't include any east coast beats.........i'm sorry but over sampling james brown isn't art

maaan, Ive always agreed with you on this one.  This is probably the most layered song I've ever heard.  And they all fit perfectly.  This is an AMAZING beat.

What kind of retarded statement is that?  Is it a joke?

Herb Quote Of The Year[/u]

CalebOhio: I think i can speak for many others when i say my favorite rap artists are white but i still want black artists to be dope. they are chosing not to be. that wouldn't be a likely believe held in a white supremacist group. I want Nas to deliver evertime but he doesn't every time Sage does. so Sage gets my $15 regardless or his status. fuck your status perception and labels you use.

1. Dr. Dre - Keep Their Heads Ringin' (Dr. Dre & Sam Sneed)
2. Jay-Z - U Don't Know (Just Blaze)
3. Dr. Dre - Deeez Nuuuts (Dr. Dre)
4. Nas - Nas Is Like (DJ Premier)
5. Jay-Z - Meet The Parents (Just Blaze)

1. This shit is incredibly addictive. I know the list isn't formal, I just can't name a better beat, ever. The best beat ever by the best rap producer ever equals of course the best beat of all time.

2. I'll bump this shit 20 years from now, it'll still knock. Timeless beat and song.

3. G-Funk at its finest.

4. Primo's best beat ever. Classic. Timeless.

5. Amazingly powerful orchestrated beat with an array of complex layers and sounds, no samples. Real creativity going on here, this proves why Just Blaze is a producer WAY out of the ordinary, so acknowledge his work.

Honorable mentions:

Brotha Lynch Hung - Rest In Piss
Mos Def & Talib Kweli - Thieves In The Night
