Now THIS would be a supergroup!
« on: January 25, 2004, 07:55:14 PM »
Kanye West
Twista
Common
(Ludacris)

Think about it..
Every track Kanye does with Twista is a banger, they fit like hands in gloves.
Kanye did some tracks with Common as well, and Common could use some better beats, + having Common & Twista going back and forth would be sick..
Kanye would do all the beats, and also a few verses and choruses.

Kanye + Twista + Common would be a supergroup, and Ludacris would be a dope addition, but I guess he's already a made man, he got his DTP + Def Jam South going on..

LMAO. Twista and Common's emceeing styles DO NOT mix. Common's laid back conscious style and Twista's fast paced street style wouldn't work together. Luda and Twista, without Common, that'd be dope.

Immortal Technique, Chino XL and Sick Jacken. That's a supergroup.

Fuck Common.

Why? He's one of the top rappers of all time IMO.

Most hip-hop is now keyboard driven, because the majority of hip-hop workstations have loops and patches that enable somebody with marginal skills to put tracks together,...

Unfortunately, most hip-hop artists gravitated towards the path of least resistance by relying on these pre-set patches. As a result, electric guitar and real musicians became devalued, and a lot of hip-hop now sounds the same.

So fucking what, adds more flavor to the group.
No need to be carbon copies to make a group.

Try listening to a whole Twista album, not just his radio singles.
Ludacris is the complete opposite of Twista ?? Yeh, whatever you say..  ::)

Word word, fools don't recognize.
Just because he's on some alternative shit, and got (partly) crappy beats, they hate on him.

There's reasons why groups with completely different styled artists do not work. Common isn't on some "pimp a bitch, slang a key" type rap. He's on some uplifting and at times experimental shit. Twista and Luda are pretty much the same rapper, content wise. They'd go great together. Common wouldn't fit in for the fact that while they're talking about "bitches" he's talking about respecting women. Can't work together.

If you understand that Com is on some alternative shit, as you put it, how can you call his beats crappy? His beats fit EXACTLY the mood he's trying to set. Com has solid albums. His beats are fine.
