some of these arent exactly eastcoast classics. go read the top 100 westcoast songs and you'll get the idea...but songs like these probably shouldnt be included in the list:

Da Rockwilder
Levitibus
Ghetto Afterlife
Eternalists
The What
Fuckin You Tonight
What If (even though i posted it originally)
Right Where U Stand

though all great songs...they really arent the best of the eastcoast.

props to bram though for mentioning pharoahe monch...(Simon Says) Shut The Fuck Up is a classic.

no we'll have 100 songs from the eastcoast...then we'll go through and figure out which ones are the top 20 or so, then from there i'll just kinda put a list together randomly out of the songs we've listed from 21-100

I didn't read all of them but scanning thru I didn't see Big Daddy Kane's "Raw" or Eric B. & Rakim's "Eric B. Is President".  Shit, those are probably the top two.

Anyways, add:  (If they aren't there)

EPMD - "It's My Thing"
EPMD - "You Gots Too Chill"
EPMD - "So What You Sayin'"
EPMD - "Headbanger"
BDP - "South Bronx"
Big Daddy Kane - "Young Gifted & Black"
Biz Markie - "Vapors"
Biz Markie - "Make The Music With Your Mouth Biz"
Marley Marl - "The Symphony"
A Tribe Called Quest - "Award Tour"
A Tribe Called Quest - "Scenario"
A Tribe Called Quest - "Check The Rhime"
Kool G Rap & DJ Polo - "Streets Of New York"
Kool G Rap & DJ Polo - "Road To The Riches"

Just a few.   ;)

CalebOhio: I think i can speak for many others when i say my favorite rap artists are white but i still want black artists to be dope. they are chosing not to be. that wouldn't be a likely believe held in a white supremacist group. I want Nas to deliver evertime but he doesn't every time Sage does. so Sage gets my $15 regardless or his status. fuck your status perception and labels you use.
