Racial Stereotypes In Film

What's up y'all? I'm writing a major essay (5000 words) for Society & Culture (sociology) on Racial Stereotypes in film. This is pretty important since it counts towards my HSC which is my mark to get into Uni/College.
i was just wanted to know what u guys thought about racial stereotypes in film, in particular racial stereotypes of african americans. Do you feel they are still strongly used today? if so what movies have used them? what are the charaistics of them? do u think movies try to use characters to break past stereotypes? what movies?
any thoughts would be helpful.
peace.
Rain.

Every show on the WB is basically a racially stereotyped show.

Friends hasn't had more than like 1 black character in it's entire run, and I don't think 90210 ever had any black people on it.  Frasier never has black people on it.  I dunno, I see crap like that all the time.  I think some times it's realistically portrayed, but I dunno.

Films Like Friday aren't helpin' matters much, either :)  Or 3 strikes, LOL.
