could it be too many guest spots, so people dont get a chance to rhyme long enough to tell a tale?

^^^ yup...jay-z had a hint of storytelling in the second verse of 99 problems, dmx has given it a shot a few times but he's not very good.

yeah and he tried to do it in "here we go again" from and then there was x...he's not a very good storyteller but both of those are some of my fav. dmx songs.

There are still some good story telling tracks floating around but I agree that it's really rare these days especially a good one.

The last story that made me say DAMN was Jay-Z "Meet The Parents". That was a long time ago.
