Nas - Double album coming this summer?
« on: February 27, 2004, 04:29:28 PM »
Check www.godsson.net

Don't know what to think. Nas last two albums were incredible so he might be able to pull off a good album. I wonder if he'll drop a good album (Art Of War, Speakerboxxx/The Love Below) or will it be lackluster (The Blueprint 2), obviously it won't be classic (All Eyez On Me, Life After Death).

I doubt it will happen.
I don't like double albums at all but I would have loved to see how the I Am concept would have turned out if not for the bootlegging.

Why would you think this:

obviously it won't be classic (All Eyez On Me, Life After Death).

I wouldn't say pulling off an album as a good as Life After Death is impossible now.  I think that album is actually a bit overrated.

CalebOhio: I think i can speak for many others when i say my favorite rap artists are white but i still want black artists to be dope. they are chosing not to be. that wouldn't be a likely believe held in a white supremacist group. I want Nas to deliver evertime but he doesn't every time Sage does. so Sage gets my $15 regardless or his status. fuck your status perception and labels you use.

nas has put out a bunch of albums better than life after death & all eyez on me...fuck saying nas cant drop a classic. a double album may not sound like it would work for him but since when has nas ever let anyone down? the only time nas has ever let anyone down was with nastradamus. the rest have all been classics in my eyes. I Am as a double album would probably be my favorite nas album if thats the way it would've dropped.

what up with that 10 track album entirely produced by himself? I liked that idea more than a double album

Haven't heard from Nas in a minute, who knows what his planning. I do like the 10 track album all produced by himself. All of his self produced tracks were pretty tight, and that underground sound could help him out a lot. The double album from him would be interesting. I think that I Am... would have been a desent double album if not for the bootlegging, and another Lost Tapes would right now be a good move also. We'll see what Nas pulls off. I know Jay-Z didn't want to do the double album, but Roc-A-Fella thought it would be a good idea, and instead was a bad move that following the Best of Both Worlds drama, and the Nas battle put the nail in the coffen for Jay-Z as hip-hop's top figure. Right now Nas has momentum do to his win over Jay-Z, no one really caring about Cam'ron dissing him, his relationship with Kelis getting big news even though Kelis isn't that known in the U.S., and God's Son doing well with critics. We'll see. I wish Nas luck as doulbe albums are hard to do, unless your 2Pac who only seems to come out in double album form at all times.

Double albums these days r just another excuse to get more shit songs on 2 2 cds.  He shud concentrate on putting another dope album out of about 20 tunes or sumit.

i doubt anybody would have the audacity to call that a double album...Man Vs. Machine wasn't considered a double album either

3 guests spots: 2 with AZ, one with Amerie
2 premo produced tracks
10 nas produced tracks
2 alchemist produced tracks

Why so many tracks produced by Nas? And what about Pete Rock, Large Professor, etc??

Yeah thats more like it, I would prehaps take away one of the Nas productions and put 9th Wonder on a track. If he can come up with something like his remix of Ether then that would be straight fire.

because i like the idea of an album with most tracks produced by nas, i gotta have atleast one premo & one alchemist track on there.
