Eric B. & Rakim - Paid In Full

I think there's no other album from back then that can really fuck with this...also

BDP - Criminal Minded
NWA - Straight Outta Compton
EPMD - Strictly Business

are straight classics




I was also wonderin if anybody knows sum dope 80's shit that ain't legendary and well-known today. since i was born in 85 i didn't really listen to hiphop back then

A compilation of underappreciated but classic tracks from eighties hiphop. Got some real dope shit on there.

My fave would be Public Enemy's Takes A Nation Of Millions To Hold Us Back. What an album.

Most hip-hop is now keyboard driven, because the majority of hip-hop workstations have loops and patches that enable somebody with marginal skills to put tracks together,...

Unfortunately, most hip-hop artists gravitated towards the path of least resistance by relying on these pre-set patches. As a result, electric guitar and real musicians became devalued, and a lot of hip-hop now sounds the same.
