All that "too busy" shit, mayne I don't buy it. How many beats a year does Dre make? Can't he work on his own album meanwhile? Every other producer/rapper do it.

Anyway, I don't believe that rumor, he'll drop the album whenever he wants. And that'll be 2005.

I thought Eminem said Detox were'nt gonna be his last album that Dre likes to challenge himself and advance or was that bullshit?

I hope this Detox quit shit aint true and its on hold or something.

No NWA album, no Rakim, no Detox and proably no fuckin Ice Cube produced album.

If this shit is true i hope busta flops.

I'd rather hear a Dre album than to hear all of these albums: Busta, Eminem, Young Buck, New 50, Lloyd Banks, and the The game. If this is true, Dre is a mark azz faggot. Makes no sense 2 me. I knew it wasn't gonna be out til I am a senior in college, (2005-2006) so I wasn't really anticipatin it because then I'd just get let down a grip of times as always. But fuggit, maybe somebody else from the west needs to step their game up a few notches. Maybe Quik can drop an album that is at the level of Chronic or 2001, he's been close twice and some say he's topped one of em.

There's plenty of producers out there who produce more than 1 albums worth of beats a year. Dre is on some pussy shit. He's so afraid of failure he refuses to put out beats. I could careless, I think we all knew this album would never drop. Jimmy Iovine calls the shots, Dre does what he's told.

hm you guys are suprised? he couldnt even find a single beat for 213 project and he is going to release detox? lol
i bet since he didnt give any beats to snoop for his last solo and 213 project, he would sound like a bitch calling snoop and asking him "Hey want to appear on detox" and we all know detox without snoop aint going to be the same

Exactly man...Dre sold out on the coast big time.  He looks stupid IMO.  What he really needs to do is get back to the WC and get off Eminems dick, and 50s dick and fuck all there affiliates D12 and GUnit, and stop doing gay shit with Mary J and Eve.  Dre is being Gay.  WTF is he thinking?

The way I see it, Dre appears to only be concerned with working with established artists that have already proven themselves to be commercially successful. Its sad to think about it, but it just seems like Dre has given up on the West Coast. It seems like he is not at all concerned with working with Snoop (no production on 213 or 'Paid Tha Cost...'. They were supposed to record a track for the forthcoming Quincy Jones CD but, surprise surprise, it doesn't appear on the track list) and all his former ''projects'' seems to have been abandoned. Think about it: how else do you explain that there is apparently no NEW Dre production on Knoc-turn'al's album (I've heard that all the Dre produced tracks were intended for Knoc's original album and none if it new - although its merely a rumour). Or how about the dropping of Hittman? Or the sudden defection of the Game from a solo Aftermath artist to G-Unit/Aftermath? Matter of fact - how many times have we heard Game over Dre beats? Or how about him never appearing in the video for Xzibit's 'Symphony in X Major' where he not only produced but spat a verse? All goes to suggest that Dre has little time for West Coast artists anymore. Same seems to go for the East Coast too: he tried to experiment with Rakim - but would rather stick to the ''old familiars'' like Em and 50.

Its a sad state of affairs when Dr. Dre, the West Coast's most well-known and influential producer (alongside Quik, who receives nowhere near the level of attention that Dre attains), decides to hand out a load of ''Detox'' considered instrumentals to 50 Cent over the likes of Snoop or Xzibit - or an up-and-comer like Game or Crooked I.

As much as I am a fan of his, I do get the impression that the Doc is a ''yes-man'' to Jimmy Iovine. Take for example the Warren G situation. Dre produces ''Lookin' At You'' off of Warren's ''Return of the Regulator'' and initially features on the track but is mysteriously taken off of the cut for reasons even Warren doesn't know. Was Dre perhaps under the influence of Iovine that he shouldn't appear on a single for an artist that doesn't have the same ''profile'' as he does? Anyway, next thing you know Dre's off of the track - and that's his half-brother!

I dunno, I wonder what goes on inside Dre's head these days. Judging by his current amount of production and guest spots/available tracks I'd guess: not very much.

Here's how I view it...

Dre doesn't have to put out an album to eat off. I'm sure he's sitting on a pile of cash most of us could only dream of - he probably lives quite comfortably off what Em's albums make alone. And as far as I'm aware he's not under any contractual obligation to Interscope to drop another CD.

So the only reason he has for dropping an album is for the sake of it - for the art, for hip-hop.

If he's canning Detox it obviously doesn't mean that much to him. If he doesn't have the heart to record an album, doesn't feel he owes the fans or no longer has the inspiration, then I'd rather he disappears.

Spot on man. If ''Detox'' doesn't mean that much to him, why let it mean that much to us?
