In the tradition of its predecessor GOD'S SON, STREET'S DISCIPLE: NASIR OF NAZARETH seeks to erase the memory of Nas's commercial pop-crossover albums, instead hearkening back to the poetic glory days of ILLMATIC. The New York hip-hop legend returns to the thoughtful, introspective philosophy that turned heads early in his recording career. There are no attempts at fancy, hook-laden production here--quite the opposite in fact, as the tracks almost seem to go out of their way to be workaday, subservient frameworks to the lyrics. Sampling records (Louis Armstrong's "Duke's Place", Lou Reed's "Take a Walk on the Wild Side") that have rarely been used by other rappers, Nas also makes it clear that his focus here is strictly on the message. Nas addresses weighty topics as mortality, true love, religion, politics, family, and personal responsibility. Those themes might seem far from the thug-life reveries of many of his contemporaries, but for Nas it's business as usual.

Fake

Appearantly he's not even halfway finished the album.  Whoever made this up should have been aware of his relationship with Pete Rock too to make it more believable.
Herb Quote Of The Year[/u]

CalebOhio: I think i can speak for many others when i say my favorite rap artists are white but i still want black artists to be dope. they are chosing not to be. that wouldn't be a likely believe held in a white supremacist group. I want Nas to deliver evertime but he doesn't every time Sage does. so Sage gets my $15 regardless or his status. fuck your status perception and labels you use.

 :o

Premier on 3 tracks, Alchemist on 4, Large Professor on 3, Swizz Beatz on 1, Pete Rock on 2..

Pharoahe Monch on "Democracy", sounds sick..
I always wanted Pharoahe to get down with Nas or Jay-Z, so that people can see what a REAL lyricist is..  ;D

LMAO @ Nasir of Nazareth. Nas needs to let go of the false-Messiah image.

Other than that, album looks good IF it's real, which is unlikely.

Most hip-hop is now keyboard driven, because the majority of hip-hop workstations have loops and patches that enable somebody with marginal skills to put tracks together,...

Unfortunately, most hip-hop artists gravitated towards the path of least resistance by relying on these pre-set patches. As a result, electric guitar and real musicians became devalued, and a lot of hip-hop now sounds the same.
