2Pac – All Eyez on Me

Disc 1:

1. Ambitionz az a ridah…Hella tight production.  The woman humming and the piano are nice touches.  Pac’s flow is raw and untouchable.  5/5
2. All about U…Uptempo beat.  Pac raps about hoes.  Nate Dogg lays down a great and catchy hook.  4/5
3. Skandalouz…Average production, but Pac makes it come alive with his lyrics.  Nate Dogg provides another great chorus.  4/5
4. Got my mind made up…The beat is very catchy.  It sort of has a dark feel to it.  Pac appears in only one verse, but Tha Dogg Pound, Method Man, and Redman provide some tight lyrics to fill up the rest of the track.  4/5
5. How do U want it…Pac flows about sexin’ bitches and politics.  Tight ass vocals against quality production and a dope hook by KC and JoJo.  4.5/5
6. 2 of Amerika’z most wanted…Snoop and Pac trade verses back and forth.  Tight beat and tight flows.  Simple chorus by Daz, but it works very well.  4/5
7. No more pain…Pac borrows Method Man’s lyrics here for the hook.  A slow beat, and Pac tears it up.  4/5
8. Heartz of men…Hella tight production.  Pac puts down a dope flow.  The chorus fits the song nicely.  4.5/5
9. Life goes on…Pac raps about dead friends.  Deep, emotional song matched with perfect production.  5/5
10.   Only God can judge me…Decent production.  Pac philosophizes well in his lines.  Lyrics overshadow the beat.  Rappin’ 4-Tay appears for a tight verse.  Dope hook.  4.5/5
11.   Tradin’ war stories…A+ production.  Pac only appears on one verse, but the Outlawz and C-Bo lay down dope verses.  4.5/5
12.   California love…Smooth production by Dr. Dre, who also has a tight verse.  Pac comes hard in the second verse and Roger Troutman provides the perfect hook.  5/5
13.   I ain’t mad at cha…A great song with a good message.  Softer production matches up well to the lyrical content and Danny Boy does a great job on the chorus.  4/5
14.   What’z ya phone #…Another sex song.  I’m not feeling this song at all.  The production is garbage and I’m not feelin’ the lyrics.  1/5

Disc 2:

1. Can’t C me…Pac rides the tight ass production perfectly with a dope ass flow.  George Clinton is a nice addition to the track.  5/5
2. Shorty wanna be a thug…Smooth, laidback production.  Pac spits a great rhyme about young kids going the wrong direction in life.  Lyrics match the beat perfectly.  5/5
3. Holla at me…Decent production, but Pac’s raw lyrics make the song come alive.  4/5
4. Wonder why they call U bytch…Pac explains why some women get the title “bitch”.  He does a great job illustrating that point.  Nice production.  4.5/5
5. When we ride…Tight beat.  Pac puts down a hella tight verse.  Outlawz ride the rest of the track and do a decent job.  3.5/5
6. Thug passion…Pac appears only on one verse, which is good.  The chorus is catchy, but I’m not feelin’ the overall song.  3/5
7. Picture me rollin’…Smooth production and tight flow.  CPO and Big Syke appear for some tight flows also.  4/5
8. Check out time…Friendly sounding production fits well with lyrical content.  Kurupt provides a nice verse.  3.5/5
9. Rather by yo nigga…Pac and Richie Rich lay down some tight vocals over an A+ beat.  Tight ass hook.  5/5
10.   All eyez on me…The beat has a 70’s feel to it.  Pacs rips the track up along with Big Syke.  Nice hook.  4/5
11.   Run tha streetz…Cool, laidback beat matched with lyrics centered around sex.  Storm does a nice job on her verse.  Great hook by Michel’le.  4/5
12.   Ain’t hard 2 find…My only complaint about this track is there is only one Pac verse.  All the other artists (E-40, B-Legit, C-Bo, Richie Rich) do a great job, but Pac came so tight on his opening verse, I wanted more.  4/5
13.   Heaven ain’t hard 2 find…Good production and Pac puts down a good flow.  Danny Boy sounds nice on the hook.  3.5/5

OVERALL…10/10

Nothing to skip (except for “What’z ya phone #”).  Production on every track is A+ quality and 2Pac’s lyrics are always on point.  Probably the only double disc in history that should actually BE a double disc.  Very high replay value.  Hip-Hop classic.

This is easily the best double cd ever made [fuck all yall who say Life After Death is better], and one of the greatest albums ever PERIOD. One day, im gonna make a thread breaking down every reason why this album is classic, and is THE blueprint of the industry today. All Eyez On Me is perhaps the most complete rap album ever made. One of my top 5 albums ever.

I agree with your overall rating, but you underrated a few songs.........such as 2 Of Amerikaz Most Wanted [one of the greatest collaberations ever], Only God Can Judge Me, Wonda Why They Call U Bitch, Holla At Me, and No More Pain.

This album is always in conflict with The Chronic and Doggystyle as my favorite album of all time. From '96-'99 this was my favorite album. Easily the best double album ever made. "Whatz Ya Phone #" is the only song I hardly ever listen to.

My personal fav. 'Pac album. Everything about it screams classic, and like most of you have said this is prolly the best double disc album ever, and as an album it is definately in my top 3 fav. albums of all time. With this album 'Pac displayed that he is possibly the most consistent rapper ever, this being the follow up to "Me Against The World" and then "Makaveli" following up this album pretty much proved this again. This album was so diverse covering almost every aspect of life from the fun times to the down times to political issues that still plague the world today and so on.

10/10

I think that if you take one of the 'O's' out of 'Good' it's 'God', if you add a 'D' to 'Evil' it's the 'Devil'. I think some cool motherfucker sat down a long time ago and said 'let's figure out a way to control motherfuckers'.

Nice review, but like others said you underated a couple songs, especially All About U, one of the most played songs off that cd everywhere, still today.
