Flesh N Bone – T.H.U.G.S.

1. Prayer intro
2. T.H.U.G.S….Slow, laidback production.  Flesh opens up the album with a rapid fire flow good for 3 verses.  Song has sort of a “Christian” message to it.  Nice hook.  4/5
3. Reverend Run sermon…skit
4. World so cruel…Nice soft “nicer” beat to it that fits the lyrical content perfectly along the lines of ‘If I could teach the world’.  Run appears for a verse which is tight as hell.  4/5
5. Northcoast…Laidback production with a saxophone in the loop, which sounds great with it.  Flesh provides 2 great verses then his brother Layzie sets it off with a bomb ass verse.  Good hook.  4/5
6. Nothin’ but da Bone in me…Dark sounding production.  Flesh sounds great mixed with the track.  4/5
7. The silence isn’t over…Another evil sounding track.  Great stutter-step on the hook.  Flesh’s flow is slowed more than on other tracks, but it matches the production well.  4/5
8. Crazy by the flesh…Production has a hint of darkness to it.  Flesh rides the beat nicely.  Evil sounding hook.  3.5/5
9. 51/50 skit
10.   Mystic spirits…Production matches Flesh’s flow and style perfectly.  It definitely has the traditional Bone Thugs “dark” feel.  Great hook.  5/5
11.   Coming 2 serve you…A+ production.  Evil sounding beat.  Perfect hook.  Flesh’s flow is on point and B.G. Knocc Out appears to lay some flowin’ ass lines down matching Bone’s “faster” style of delivery.  5/5
12.   Tha killin’ skit
13.   Live soil…Decent sounding beat with a hint of darkness.  Flesh appears only at the end with a tight ass verse, but the guest rappers aren’t that interesting to listen to.  3/5
14.   Sticks and stones…Catchy hook.  Flesh’s flow is decent, but the beat is average.  3/5
15.   Empty the clip…Definite overall dark feel to the track.  Afta Maff makes another appearance on the track, doing a lot better job than on ‘Live Soil’.  3.5/5
16.   No mercy…Track features Big Pun and Fat Joe.  Flesh’s flow really stands out.  Guest artists do a decent job, but overall, I’m not really feelin’ this track.  3/5
17.   Playa hater…Slow, laidback beat.  Features Layzie Bone and Krayzie Bone.  Flesh’s verses are average, but Layzie and Krayzie set it off.  4/5

OVERALL…8/10

Flesh ‘N Bone’s first album proves to be a great CD.  His flow as a member in Bone Thugs N Harmony is often overshadowed by Bizzy, Layzie, and Krayzie.  Here, he puts down some great verses which is matched with great production which still contains the “dark” vibe.  My only complaint is Afta Maff.  Besides that, a great album.

I only wish Bone could put out material like this now. This is one of the better Bone solos, and is better than anything Bone has made Resurrection and later. It has that vintage dark sound that Bone has abandoned for some reason.

solid 4.25/5

tight review, i agree with it except i would give

World so cruel 5/5
Nothin’ but da Bone in me 5/5

and i agree with the rest, to me Flesh proved to be the 3rd best member of bone behind bizzy and krayzie, and flesh also ripps the whole BTNHRESS album , so that helped too

This albums is Brilliant and is the best bone solo along with "The Gift"

good 4.5 mics.

I love that dark sound and Flesh seems to be the only member who's kept true to the bone sound of old. Even on 5th dog let loose, theres the old sounds of bone on there.

Flesh is the best member IMO .
