New Beastie Boys track - Check It Out
« on: May 02, 2004, 07:53:03 PM »
Man, this is a dope track. I've been a huge fan of the Beastie Boys for many years now, this new track doesn't dissapoint at all. Their new album is looking promising.

Drop thoughts on the track.

Most hip-hop is now keyboard driven, because the majority of hip-hop workstations have loops and patches that enable somebody with marginal skills to put tracks together,...

Unfortunately, most hip-hop artists gravitated towards the path of least resistance by relying on these pre-set patches. As a result, electric guitar and real musicians became devalued, and a lot of hip-hop now sounds the same.

Yeah, struck me as that era too. Not quite as good as that album's material, but still a good cut.

I like it.  All their shit is dope.  Nobody can put energy in a track like the Beastie Boys.

not really my thing, but I gotta say The Beasties have kept pretty consistent with their music.
