Savage C - Smokey The Bandit is the only album I have bought this year.  its probably the best I have heard so far, or at least in the top 2 or 3.

Royce, Murs, Cee-Lo, Brother Ali, Pete Rock, Ghostface & Kanye (but I've been listening to my version which is much better)
Herb Quote Of The Year[/u]

CalebOhio: I think i can speak for many others when i say my favorite rap artists are white but i still want black artists to be dope. they are chosing not to be. that wouldn't be a likely believe held in a white supremacist group. I want Nas to deliver evertime but he doesn't every time Sage does. so Sage gets my $15 regardless or his status. fuck your status perception and labels you use.

Prince - Musicology

Most hip-hop is now keyboard driven, because the majority of hip-hop workstations have loops and patches that enable somebody with marginal skills to put tracks together,...

Unfortunately, most hip-hop artists gravitated towards the path of least resistance by relying on these pre-set patches. As a result, electric guitar and real musicians became devalued, and a lot of hip-hop now sounds the same.

Am I the only who thinks the game has been stepped up this year? A lot of quality shit has been dropped already.

^^ I think so too, but actually '03 wasn't that bad either. There was a dope album by the Jedi Mind Tricks, and (in my opinion) two classics by Canibus and Son Doobie. There were a couple of other good albums, but I can't think of them right now.

But I think it was a bad year '04 for the Eastcoast so far, the better albums came from the Midwest (Twista, Kamikaze, D12 [I know many of you don't like the D12 album]) and the Westcoast (MURS, Dilated Peeps, Planet Asia, Cypress Hill). Let's look how the year will go on...

yeah, it really ain't been a bad year. Listenin to Ghostface's album right now, dope shit...and I don't think it's been such a bad year for the east, we got The Pretty Toney LP, What's Wrong With Bill? and most importantly College Dropout...3 pretty dope albums

^^ Kanye West is from Chi-Town, Midwest. So it's only two good albums from the Eastcoast so far, that's definitely not good.

/edit/ LoL. In the brackets after "Midwest" in my post at the beginning of this site I wrote "Twista, Kamikaze, D12", that was supposed to be "Twista, Kanye West, D12" ;D
