2Pac - Until The End Of Time
« on: March 21, 2002, 05:38:07 AM »
Now being that Pac is by far my most fav. rapper and argueably the greatest of all time, of course I copped this the 1st day it came out. And though I was a little disappointed the overall product wasn't as bad as everyone makes it out 2 be.  As you will see from this review:

DISC ONE

1.  Ballad Of A Dead Soldier - An unbootlegged track and a very eerie one.  But as usual tight as hell.  The beat is pretty good and Pac's raw energy and lyrics just kill the song.  The chrous just doesn't see 2 fit the song but other than that its a killer track.  4.5/5

2.  Fuck Friends - This is yet another version of Friends.  This is by far the worst verion of this song.  I mean I hate the new chrous (they took Pac off of it).  And yes the beat is alright, but even the version on 2GFTR is better.  Nothing will beat the original.  The beat on this one is pretty good though, just doesn't fit when you heard the other versions of the song.  (3/5)

3.  Lil' Homies - This one they barely changed. The beat sounds very similar 2 the original, maybe slowed a little bit, but other than that the beats pretty close.  Alwayz been a big fan of  this highly bootlegged track so I of course like this one.  The only problem is they cut the track short so you don't get the disses at the end like in the orignal.  But still a really good track.  (4.5/5)

4.  Let Em Have It f/SKG - OK, this song really pissed me off.  Not becuz its horrible but becuz of all the changes.  First off the beat (which is alright maybe 4 a diff. song) just doesn't fit the lyrics.  The beat is all eerie and shit when its supposed 2 be a fuck song.  I mean I have gotten used 2 it and really like the beat but the org beat is sooo much better.  Second and probably the most horrible change is the removal of STORM, what the hell!!!!  We get this new bitch SKG, who isn't great on the mic and really kills the song.  Fuckin' AMARU, but overall after a couple listens I like it, not love it like I did the org.  (3.5/5)

5.  Good Life f/Big Syke, EDI - Another bootlegged track that they didn't change much.  The beat is pretty similar and very laid back.  Alwayz a fan of this track and still am of the new one.  I espcially like the new EDI verse its way better than his first verse on the org.  They kept Pac on the chrous which I thought 4 sure wouldn't happen cuz of the other tracks, so thats a plus.  I personally think BIG SYKE rips this song up, his verse is soooo tight.  (4.5/5)

6.  Letter 2 My Unborn - My fav. on the album.  This track is amazing.  It was unbootlegged so I never heard the org. so I was just mezmerized by this song.  I still bump it 2 this day.  It has a great beat (sounds like MJ's Liberian Girl from way back) and Pac's lyrics, esp. his 2nd verse is just amazing.  Truely this song is what seperates Pac from the rest of the rappers in the game.  (5/5)

7.  Breathin' f/Outlawz - This track is another banger.  I fuckin' love it.  The beat 2 me is 10x better than the org.  The outlawz all come hard and kill it 2.  But the only thing I wish about this one was they kept Bizzy Bone in it.  But overall I was very satisfied with this new version.  The beat is just slammin'.  Kind of beat you would expect Pac 2 rap 2.  A little laid back but at the same time hard.  (4.5/5)

8.  Happy Home - Kept this bootlegged track almost the same, minor tweeks with the beat.  The only thing that sets this track back is the wack ass chrous and bridge at the end.  Could've done without that, but overall def.  a listenable track.  If you like the org.  you'll like this.  (4/5)

9.  All Out f/Outlawz - Was one of my absoletly fav bootlegged track, so I couldn't wait 2 hear a released one.  I was VERY disapppointed.  The beat which made the org.  so hotttt was changed.  But after a couple of listens I got used 2 it, but it still doesn't bang like the org.  The beat just seems a little off wit the lyrics.  It seems 2 East Coast 2 me.  They also changed the chrous, which was stupid but like I said b4 I was used 2 them doing stupid changes by now.  (3/5)

10. Fuckin' Wit The Wrong Nigga - Absouletly nothing changed in this song, I wish all the songs were like this.  This track is pretty phat 2.  Its like a hard core song with a nice laid back beat.  Pretty sick.  And even though he doesn't mention any names you know who the fuck hes' talking about.  (5/5)

11. Thug N U Thug N Me (Remix) f/KC and JOJO - 2 put it simply - PURE CRAP.  The beat is fuckin' annoying and why the fuck would you put the remix on disc 1 when we haven't even heard the org yet.  Just don't like it at all esp. when you're used 2 the bootlegged version with a dope ass beat(MC LYTE beat).  So I advise you 2 just skip and save yourself the misery.  (0/5)

12. Everything They Owe - This was a horrible horrible fuck up by Amaru and the producer.  Cuz at most times during the song Pac sounds totally off key with the beat.  2 bad too, cuz this song is pretty ill with a good message and all.  But the production is just a mistake, I know it.  Could of been 100x better and even though its a tight song I just skip it now cuz of the very bad production.  Worst mistake ever on a PAC song.  (2/5)

13. Until The End Of Time - Now even though I loved the org. and the org. beat, I have 2 admit this new version is pretty good.  I like how they remade that song and all, and by doing this they def. are looking 2 get alot of radio play and they did.  After a couple listens you'll get used 2 the new beat and actually end up liking it like me.  Also the video was dope as hell.  (4/5)

14. MOB f/Thug Life, Outlawz - This song also seemed like it was rushed production wise.  Now overall this track is pretty tight esp.  Fatal's verse, and we have not heard from Fatal in a long ass time so it was great 2 finally hear him.  But the beat isn't anything great but not horrible, I just think they could've done a little better.  I never heard the org.  but I wish I could just 2 hear the beat, cuz thats the only thing that seems off on this song.  (3.5/5)

15.  World Wide Mob Figgaz f/Outlawz - Now I know I'm gonna make some enemies by saying this, but I like this version better than the org. 4 the most part of it.  The beat is phat, chrous is really tight 2 (much better than all the movie skits)  but thats just my opinion.  Also all the outlawz verses are tight as hell.  The only problem is that I wish BIG SYKE had a verse like in the org.  But other than that another tight offering.  (4.5/5)

DISC TWO

1.  Big Syke Interlude - Just an intro from Big Syke kind of warning all the Pac imitators out there.  Not worth rating but a good intro 2 all them fake wannabees.

2.  My Closest Roaddawgz - Now I love everything bout this track except the chrous and no BIG SYKE.  But other than that this song is the shit.  You have the first verse, which is on the bootlegged version, but the other 2 verses are brand spanking new, and are total heat.  The only thing I can think of is that Pac made 2 versions and one's solo and the other one is a collab.  The beat is alright, not like the org.  But its decent, its just not as underground sounding and raw as the org. but overall the beat is pretty good.  (4/5)

3.  Niggaz Nature (Remix) f/Lil Mo - First of all why is this one called Niggaz Nature and the other version the supposedly org is called Thug Nature.  Am I the only one thats confused.  Anyway not really in2 this one, the org. on the TG4R comp.  is 10x better cuz of the MJ sample.  Also I really don't like Lil Mo, she's just crappy.  The beat is also something I couldn't see Pac rapping 2, and now that FAT JOE has this beat it just sounds 2 east coast.  But if you like that comm. rap then you'll love this song.  Go get the org.  if you really want a phat song.  (3/5)

4.  When Thugz Cry - Now this song was one of the best bootlegged tracks and now that its released I'm just a little disappointed.  First the beat is tweeked a little but 4 the most part kept the same and is pretty phat.  But the worst thing is they took PAC's chrous OUT!!!!!!!!  What the fuck were they thinking?????  That's what made the song.  I'll take the org.  over this one any day.  But its still a tight song and def. worth listening 2.  (4/5)

5.  U Don't Have 2 Worry f/Outlawz - The other HUGE MISTAKE on the album.  What the fuck is up with the new beat?????  Its horrible, not only would Pac never of rapped 2 it, the org. beat was straight heat.  But that AMARU 4 you.  Now the org. was a song that I bumped and still bump all the time but this version I just skip and quickly 4get about. Beat SUCKS dick.  (1/5)

6.  This Ain't Livin' - An unbootlegged track and damn is it fuckin' tight.  Lyrics are simply amazing and the beat is pretty tight 2.  Kind of laid back but def. something Pac would've done.  There is one problem with this track and thats the editing of some of Pac's lines.  Some shit is blanked out and that def.  is not Pac, he was sooooooo in2 free speech and shit so whoever did this did a very wrong thing.  But other than that this song is fuckin' TIGHT!!!  (5/5)

7.  Why U Turn On Me - Another case of a song getting messed up cuz of the beat and also the stupid blanking out of Wendy Williams name.  I alwayz wonder why they did that, but I guess Amaru wants 2 squash all of Pac's beefs.  Anyway, the chrous is stupid on this song 2.  I like the org.  10x better, the up-tempo beat was tight, but this beat is way 2 boring and plain 4 this song.  (3/5)

8.  LASTONESLEFT f/Outlawz - My other favorite on the whole album.  This song is just fuckin' phat.  The beat is tight, probably best on the whole album.  And Kastro and Napolean each drop some heat with there verses.  Pac's chrous and intro/outro will get you singing along.  Pac at his very very best.  This one could of fit very well on All Eyez or even 7 day theory.  TIGHT!!!!  (5/5)

9.  Thug N U Thug N Me f/KC and JOJO - Now even thought the org. is 10x better you have 2 admit that hearing KC and JOJO with Pac is just phat.  Beat is similar 2 the one that was on KC and JOJO's X but tweeked a little.  I like this version, just not as much as the org.  But still pretty tight.  Just wish Pac was alive so he could've made another porn video 4 this one.  (4/5)

10. Words 2 My First Born f/Above The Law - Now the lyrics in this song by Pac are so fuckin' real and raw.  He talks about abortion and shit and it'll amaze you a bit.  He was a lyrical genius.  The beat by DJ Quik, even though I'm a huge fan, doesn't belong with this song.  Its way 2 uptempo, this should have a diff beat, like the org.  That beat was perfect.  The beat on this one though is nice, just not 4 this song.  It alwayz gets me bobbin my head and shit just think they should've used a darker, more slower beat.  Above the Law doesn't really do much either.  They are just average rappers and you won't hear nothing special.  The second guy from ABTL, is just garbage and comes real close 2 ruining the song.  So do what I do listen 2 the first 2 verses that are done by Pac, then skip over the rest.  (3/5)

11. Let Em Have It (Remix) f/Lefteye - Now this beat is pretty phat, not as good as the org. version but 10x better than the one on Disc One.  This is like the club version.  I like this one.  The beat is slammin'.  Listen 2 it when he's doing the Rock your body body part, the beat is soooo phat.  Lefteye sux at rapping but I can deal with her cuz of the beat.  What they should of done is put the real org on Disc One and kept this as the remix here.  Thats what I wish happened.  (4/5)

12. Runnin' On E f/Outlawz - Another one that stayed exactly the same.  Fatal again is on this one and drops some heat.  Love this one cuz of all the disses.  Its classic.  Dope beat, reminds me of the All Out org.  Right up there with all his other diss songs.  (4.5/5)

13. When I Get Free f/J.Valentin - This is a new version of When I Get Free II off of R U Still Down.  Sounds like a 90's version.  The beat is slammin', esp if you have some thump in your car, then man, people will hear you coming.  There's a totally new verse at the end 2 so I like it better than the RUSD version.  Overall song is pretty tight.  (4.5/5)

14.  Until The End Of Time - This is another version with a different person singin' the hook.  I like this version better than the one on Disc One.  Mainly becuz of the outro where Pac talks about things, he doesn't do that on the one on D1.  But other than that its pretty much the same.  No new beat or anything, so I give it the same thing I gave the other one except I added a .5 cuz I like it better. (4.5/5)

Now I think they should of made this a single album and left off the remixes and all the songs they rushed.  Then this album could've been classic.  If you're a huge Pac fan like me then there is no reason you shouldn't have this album.  Its worth it 4 those couple of unheard gems.  And not all the new changes are horrible as you see.   I mean most of em are listenable.  Just pretend you never heard the bootlegged songs.  Cuz you know you all would love this shit if no one leaked all the org.  Anyway overall, I would give this a 7/10.  Not Pac's best but right up there.

What's the difference between the "Until The End Of Time" version and the OG ?
Did 2Pac sing the chorus, was some disses removed or something? Please explain.

pac was on tha hook there was no crappy rnb singer,  an tha beat was a million times better,  1st off tha beat was too pop an rnbish an 2ndly it didnt fit tha song at all.  Death also has a version of it,  it was on 2 gangsta 4 radio.  That version is really good,  not as good as tha unrealeased OG version but is really good.  Tha one on UTEOT is a disgrace.
