Ghostface Killah- The Pretty Tony Album
« on: May 20, 2004, 02:37:18 PM »
Intro

Biscuits (f/trife)- Superb production from Tru Master. Catchy hook. Trife is ill, but Ghost easily steals the show. 5/5

Kunta Fly Shit- Tight beat from RZA. Ghost's flow is a little to slow. 4/5

Beat the Clock- Cool track, Ghost kills it. 4.5/5

Metel Lungies (f/sheek, styles)- Wu Tang meets D Block on this track. Sheek's verse is easily the highlight of the song. 5/5

Bathtub

Save Me Dear- Ghost talks about a chick named Kim. Great story telling song. Great soul samples from "You Got What I Need" by Freddie Scott. 5/5

Its Over- I don't know who this K Def cat is, but he most def knows how to produce. Ghost spits fire on this track. 5/5

Keisha's House- Nice storytelling rhymes with laidback beat. 4/5

Tush (f/missy elliott)- Some People hate this song with a passion, others don't. Personally I like. Although I wish he picked a more attractive female rapper other than Missy. 4/5

Last Night- Tony pretty much raps over Last Night Changed It All by Esther Phillips. Good song. 5/5

Holla (f/allah real)- Ghost pretty much raps La La (means I love you) by the Delfonics. Allah Real provides good backup vocals. 4.5/5

Ghostface- Slightly annoying hook. Uptempo beat. Ghost flows his ass off. 4/5

Be This Way- Tight production by Nottz. Great samples, can't remember what song they're from. Ghost comes correct. Great chorus. 5/5

The Letter

Tooken Back (f/jacki-o)- THIS NEEDS TO BE THE NEXT SINGLE!!! Everything is good on the song, from the Nottz production, to tight verses from Jacki & Tony. Speaking of which, Jacki-O & Tony need to work together more, they have wonderful chemistry. 5/5

Run (f/jadakiss)- Do I really need to say anything??? 5/5

Love (f/musiq, k fox)- Perfect song to end the album. Musiq's vocals steal the show. 5/5

overall= 4.6/5

I don't mind Tush that much, but it really doesn't fit in the album. It's a commercial attempt gone wrong and doesn't posess the grimeyness that the other tracks do.

Probably my favourite album of the year so far. I'm glad he came back strong after the last LP.

Are you guys serious?  This album fell way short of my expectations.  Ghost is my favorite member of the Wu and I feel like this is one of the worst Wu albums to date.  That whole Cappadonna (I'll just talk over a beat) style has really got to go.  I actually dig Meth's album more than I did this one.  Maybe I'll have to give it another chance.

I liked tush as well....the songs with Lox Members on it are top class and the best songs on the album....top notch release as usual from Ghost with Solid Production throughout...
Slurred words, double vision, brain bustin, head rushin
Since I'm too drunk to walk, I rock a party on crutches
and still rush the roughest MC who wanna get it
Forget it, it's Likwit, Tha Liks and, Xzibit
Ca-Tash on the blast the final piece to the puzzle
I slap bitches on the ass I slap tits up out the muzzle
I shuffle with the microphone, bang rhymes consistant
You wack and I'm Ca-Tash and that's the motherfuckin difference
For instance, "21 and Over" set your clocks back
(Tick tock tick tock) Still standin where the rocks at
Two-thousand-one, we still young guns that's +Restless+&
