Creepin On Ah Come Up
« on: July 21, 2001, 08:05:40 PM »

1. Intro--This shit is wicked. It starts with Eazy E talking, then Bone comes in with what many Bone fans refer to as the "clair chant" [its also seen in the beginning of the Thuggish Ruggish Bone video when Bone are standing in front of the trash cans with fire in them], over a wicked, darkass beat. This shit still sends chills down my spine today. Wicked. 5/5

2. Mr.Quija--This is some crazy murderious shit right here. Its not a real song, but its got that spooky, horror type shit going on. 3.5/5

3. Thuggish Ruggish Bone--One of the ultimate classic Bone songs, and it was their first original hit, and is a hip hop standard. The song is of hardcore nature, yet there isnt a single curse word. DJ Uneek drops a classic beat, and all the members drop a nice verse. Layzie's first verse is perhaps the most memorable, though Bizzy's part [especially when he flips his eyes in the video] is too. Classic song. 5/5

4. No Surrender--The song is just EVIL. Perhaps Uneek's most wicked beat ever, and the lyrics are straight RAW. Wish Bone's verse is especially harsh. Definatly a song to listen to if you're in a bad mood. Every time I hear this song, I wanna brawl with someone [but of course I dont, its just a song]. Another Bone classic. 5/5

Down Fo My Thang--Flesh makes his first appearance here, and he does a nice job, but Layzie's verse is again the standout verse. Rhythm D handles the production on this one, and its a slower, heavy basslined track. Another gem of this album. 5/5

Creepin On Ah Come Up--Basically, the concept of the album in a nutshell. Its a story-telling track, about hustlin on the streets of the projects to get theirs. A killer darkass beat, this sounds like it coulda been on E.1999 Eternal, and is a small prelude as to what would come in the next year. I love Krayzie's verse. 5/5

Fo Tha Love Of $--Some consider this the best song on the album, and for good reason. Definatly a Bone classic, and Eazy E drops one of the most memorable verses ever. Everyone was rappin to his verse when this album dropped. Just a great track, and one that will alwayz be remembered as one of the all time greats. 5/5

Mo Cheese--The only track I ever skip on the album. Its basically a Fo Tha Love Of $ instrumental, and though I like the beat, they coulda put another song in place of it. 3/5

All in all, this is easily a classic album. Though its short, every song [except the last one] is a banger, and its the VERY first album from the midwest to ever reach gold, platinum, or multi-platinum status. That feat alone automatically deserves it some recognition. Not to mention that it brought a completely new style to the rap game and opened the doors for many artists who have been influenced by this particular sound of hip hop. Despite how great this album is, it was only a apetizer to Bone's ultimate masterpiece, their 1995 landmark classic, E.1999 Eternal. Many refer to this album as "Eternal's little brother". This album and E.1999 Eternal have many differences though. On this album, the beats werent quite as dark, and the album itself is more hardcore. And Bone's flow and harmony wasnt fully developed. The album hits you hard, but there were still cracks in the surface........Still easily a hip hop classic though. 5/5

LoL,  not again,  anyways i think this album is a classic,  every track is a banger,  if this album was longer it would of been better than e.1999.eternal

You think so?? Ive thought about that before, and even if this album was longer, I doubt it would be better than Eternal. Bone PERFECTED their sound on Eternal. Creepin was nothing but bangers from start to finish, but you could tell Bone's music was still in its developing stages, and it didnt reach its full blossom until E.1999 Eternal. While Creepin is their rawest album, it doesnt have the musical complexity or sophisticated chemistry that Eternal does. Every track on Eternal was worked on carefully and the whole album turned out to be a gem. But with Creepin, Eazy was anxious to get them exposed to the world and made them rush through Creepin. The album still turned out amazing but it didnt blow peoples minds like E.1999 did. But I still consider Creepin to be a classic, regardless.

Its a BRILLIANT album but with only 5 tracks i'd call it a classic as far as EP's go.
