but why the fuck do europeans say "i'm going on holiday"  .......i can't even go into detail how wrong and weird that sounds. maybe i'm just ignorant but isn't a holiday an observed day that every one has off (for example Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving) as opposed to a vacation which is a personal day or days off.


again no offense but it's just weird, it's like saying "i'm giving a dump" as opposed to saying "i'm taking a Dump"  to me.

Many Europeans with basic English skills thinks that holiday & vacation is synonyms..
