antipop consortium - ends against the middle (ep)
« on: November 18, 2001, 04:57:58 AM »
Ends against the middle is a sneak peak in the form of an ep of what to expect from their new album, which should be out in 2002.

1. tuff gong - This sounds different from their material on last years album, "Tragic Epilougue." This one starts out with a hard beat and some horns and than later evolves into a nice mix of eclecticism. Very short though - 3.5/5
2. Splinter - Starts out with some wierd chanting and into some raps by one of the members of the group. This is the longest track on the album, about 4 mins. - 3.5/5
3. dystopian disco force - Title basically explains it, this one's an instrumental the whole way through - 3/5
4. 39303 - One of the more interesting tracks on the album, real nice instrumental here. - 4/5
5. pit - a rather soothing instrumental, with some random beeping noises - 3/5
6. perpendicular - another nice instrumental, someone should have rapped on this track. - 3.5/5
7. Vector - This is the best track on the album, great instrumental and good raps.  - 4.5/5

Overall 3.5 mics. It's a really short ep, can't be more than 20 minutes, but it does contain some intersting stuff. If you see it in the record store you might want to pick it up, it's only 8 bucks... Stays with you longer than a meal at burger king.
