thats why we need a server to make it available to more ppl
i only have DSL with 16kbs upload
that should be enough for a upstream to a server
listeners should connect to that server, so that there wont be no problems for the DJ

b/c if the dj-line is to small and a lotta ppl try to connect the line gets interuppted, laggy, and you cant listen to it
that would be fucked up, b/c if this happens once or twice, ppl will loose interest on that radio show

i might be able to put some work in that whole thing,
but right now the semester is over - im studying
and in the next 3 months im having my final exams for that semester
i wont be able to do much
but besides that this might be a nice project

Im not keen on the mixtape idea i dont think people wanna do that, it would be very bad for 56k users and you wanna make it open to everyone.

I Ran "HotBox Radio" For About 2 And A Half Years and we were one of the top listened to shows on Shoucast & mycaster.com......While broadcasting there, we never had server problems, there are a lot of people who will run a server for you for about $10 (U.S.D) Try www.audiorealm.com (They hosted us, and they are good at promoting your station as well)...but at the P2P thing, i dont think you will get as much exposure as you would through Shoutcast or live365.com (also, live365.com hosts and gets all the legal stuff outta the way)

Now to the legal stuff, you need to get license agreements from BMI & ASCAP, because those publishing houses will be on your ass in a heartbeat, they have a team that searches out internet broadcasters and fines them or takes them off the air....its not really that expensive, only $20 bucks a year for each (that was 3 years ago, i dont know if the price went up, but i heard that it skyrocketed, you might want to check in on that).....

Just get the license agreements out of the way, everything else is easy to set up and do,....And i might suggest getting Sam2 to broadcast, its what they use at professional radio stations, you can find that at http://www.spacialaudio.com/products/sam2/ (its Shoutcast compatable!)
