What would you name your kid?

I've been thinking about this recently and I think it's quite difficult. After all, you're giving a kid a name it should bear for the rest of it's life!

I personally find thinking up male names that I like much more difficult then girls' names so I hope I won't get too many sons 

On the whole I think you should consider a name that suits you, a name that will fit the person-to-be at any time in life and shouldn't give the kid problems.It shouldn't be too lofty either.
In my case that would mean:

No names like Merlin,Fern,April, Star or June or Heather that actually constitute things. Therefore the famed Apple born recently is a big no no for me

No names that will only fit the person as a kid or as an adult. So no Bertrands, Benedicts, Sjaaks, Jaaps,Kikis or Jeroens for me.( Sjaak,Jaap en Jeroen are dutch names,for those who wonder.)

No names like Jupiter,Zeus, Jesus, Midas or Archimedes.

Also I have a vulgar dislike for names like D'Angelo or DiStefano. Terrible ones,IMO.

And also no names of celebrities,like Elvis or something.

I think I'd give my kid a name with some classiness to it, but not in an extreme way. At the moment I prefer ones that aren't too long and ones that wouldn't be too common. For example, I think classic mythologies offer some beautiful and not too 'majestic-sounding' names.
For a girl I think a name like Leto,Ariadne,Atalante,Zoe,Phoebe or Clio is nice.
For a guy I'd say names that have a strong and yet subtle sound to it though none come to mind at the moment.

What would you take in mind if you had to come up with a name?

Ive been thinkin bout this too, I know that if i have a Daughter, I would Call Her Amity (Amity Means Friendship).....
If I had A Son, i dunno, nothing really wierd, but his Middle Name Would be "Danger" so he could say "DANGER IS MY MIDDLE NAME"

I don't really care what my kid's name will be.  I'll let my wife decide, women are more concerned with things like that.
