For the record:  I am married, but not to some girl I met over the internet. 

When I was living in South Lake Tahoe, CA, there was no mosque in the city, I would have to drive almost two hours to be a part of the community.  I wanted to marry a Muslim woman.  So to find a Muslim woman I had no choice but through long distance (internet).  I traveled to Oman (Gulf of Arabia) to meet a girl I had been talking to over the internet.  We got engaged, but ultimately it would take years for me to save up enough money to show her parents I could take care of her (the Omani dollar is 3 times stronger than our dollar).  So we never got married.

After Allah revealed the order that alcohol was forbidden, the Prophet (saws) never touched it.  All the Muslims dumped their alcohol into the streets, so much so that it was flowing like a river.

And Rod, I suggest you read the Qu'ran to find out the true definition of a Muslim.  Why don't you study the way of life of the Prophet Muhammad, (saws) and his companions (sahaba) and find out what real Muslims act like.  Those Persian's and Arab's you hang out with on the street who want nothing more than to be able to pick up on white women and "fit in" with American culture, do not represent Islam as defined by the Qu'ran, and the life of the Prophet and his companions.

I know it is hard for anyone to see their own shortcomings.  We must not take critisism too harshly.  One of the companion's of the prophet said he loved his enemies more than his friends because his friends would always beautify his mistakes but his enemies would point out his shortcomings, and then he could correct them.  If the cloth resisted the needle no sewing would get done.

That is your arrogance and pride talking.  The Qu'ran states that there should be a people who enjoin the right and forbid what is wrong.  Alcohol and porn are wrong, and I will continue to speak out against these devices of the Shatan.  I won't force you to become Muslim.  But the prophet said that the Muslim should be like the one who sells perfume, you may not buy any perfume from him, but you will absorb some of the scent when you are around him.

Actually that's not how it works.  All the righteous companions of the Prophet Muhammad (saws) who made Islam the preferred religion of 1/5's of the Earth's people, they were all "converts" to Islam.  Many of them were "idol worshippers" until Muhammad began revealing to them the truth from Allah and brought them back to their true nature (Islam, submission to the will of the Creator).  These were all "converts" that established Islam in Arabia.

As for Rod... you go on talking about your "americanized" version of whatever you imagined Islam to be, and I'll continue striving to practice it in the way it has been described in the Noble Qu'ran and in the authentic hadith of the Prophet and his companions.

What about murder? I'd like to think that murder is wrong. That however did not stop Muhammed and his growing army from going through with it. Then after Muhammed when the movement split and each side need to build an army and basically threaten Ethiopians and Somolians to join up or die. How about Spain? You think when Spain was taken over it was done peacefully and the spanish converted willingly? Or Greece? Greece was taken over and enslaved by muslims. It took revolution to fight back against the tyrrany. The Greeks were not fighting against the truth, they were fighting against the dictatorship that was controlling them.

Just so you know my woman is Arab and was Muslim until she converted to a normal faith (Catholicism).
