For the longest time I didn't feel any of this kind of pride. I was from Holland and I didn't really care about it. The first time I was really proud to be Dutch was with Graduation in America when I saw my flag that they hung up for me. Just the fact that they did that especially for me, you know... that was really cool... but I also realized that being from Holland I grabbed the opportunity to teach a lot of people in America about Europe cause most Americans don't know jack shit about anything from outside The States.

Dutch people are really open minded. Look at the Dutch drug policies, look at how we deal with prostitution, look at the euthanasia law... how many countries have laws like that? Another thing that makes me proud of my country is when I see artists like Do and DJ Tiesto blow up all over the world. It's just cool when you see a cd called "Tiesto Live In LA" or something

I think I always felt that Dutch pride when I was in America, but it wasn't until Graduation till I actually realized it. Maybe you have to live in a foreign country to really feel proud of your own country...
