Many, Many, Many, Many reasons, but I'll illustrate one of them with 2 sentences.

Bush: I'm going to lower taxes, and give you money.

Kerry: I'm going to raise taxes, and take your money.

actually from what ive heard kerry is only in favor of raising taxes for those that make over 200,000 a year. is that possible i dont know. What politicians say an do are two completely different things.  And if kerry does raise taxes for all,  in some situations for the long run it is better he raise taxes.  In the short term it looks like a bad idea.
