Lets suppose that Bush DID desecrate the flag, so that's a detriment to his 'cool' factor.


He landed a jet, which by the law of the country was named air-force one at the time, on an aircraft carrier in the middle of the ocean in the middle of a war.  That FAR outweighs the negative of signing a 4 inch flag, thereby raising his cool meter back up into "real as fuck".  He even had his name painted on the side and shit.
