Some Rakim Speculation & A Few Other Things...
« on: September 20, 2002, 02:15:55 PM »
I just read The Source @ the mall, and about that Rakim article...

Everyone got bad vibes from it cause of how the article was about Dre "Dropping the ball on Rakim."  If you read the part where Rakim says that he doesn't want to make this a big surprise, he doesn't wanna hype it or anything; I think this is just a cover up.  We've been getting fed all this news that he only has like 3 tracks completed, and that the album won't drop blah, blah.

I think this is all a stunt by Dre & Rakim.  He said he and Dre really wanna make this a surprise.  So a lot of strange info is being said from all these news sites, they really isn't anything concrete.  We are being mislead on purpose so before we know it outta left field will come this album...just when we thing it has been dropped.

Rakim has been keeping a low profile, not really talking in depth about this album at all.  He even was a no show @ 106 the day before.  And even then when he showed he gave no info that was important.  This is all apart of the album's promotion...lol.

Anyway.  SOme other things I noticed.  Dre produced "Release Date" and "Choke Me, Spank Me, Pull My Hair."  He did NOT do "Multiply."  A producer name Duane or something did.

There is also a nice 50 Cent add for his new album.  It says executive producers Dr. Dre & Eminem.

PEACE

I agree with you about it being a surprise.  I have a feeling that one day, Rakim's first single is going to play on the radio with no prior notice.  If this album is bootlegged, it will be very close to the release date.   i still believe this album will drop and will be the best album we've heard in a while

A lot of these rumors are complete bullshit.

I'm certain that Dre, Primo, Fred Wreck, Alchemist, Hi-Tek & Ayatollah will not all be behind the boards with Em, X, Ras, Nas...etc sharing the mic.  This many people won't be involved.

Taking a chance with this prediction:

Rakim on the mic
Dr. Dre (probably co-producing with Mel-Man) producing...

That's it.

P.S.    That's what I want to see.  You need more than that?

In the Third Verse, before the chorus, X says "Dre, bring that shit in one more time"...It's DRE no doubt...he either Produced it, or Co-produced it...Dont be makin' assumptions now...PeACE

Hmmmm, about the "Rakim-Promotion" im skeptic, cuz its a pretty dumb way to promote an album by telling everyone that its not finished and not giving us any hints on it at all.

Seems pretty odd to me, but hey, thats my opinion.

Yeah your right,it is kind of odd the way things are going. The one thing that bothers me is the fact that they keep saying it will be released at a certain time then it never happens.First it was supposed to be spring of this year then the summer then the winter and now January.Im sick of that shit and its unaccepatable for the simple fact that Rakim has been signed since October of 2000.Who knows what the hell is going on with that album, but something isnt right,I can feel it!!

I bet this album is about half done, but they are keeping everything on wrap because they know it will be mass bootlegged........the album prob. won't be out for a year, but there is no way in hell it won't drop.
