dmx tried to come correct on his new album, the great depression,,, i wouldn't really say that it worked too well though. that video was hot, but he tried to become more socially concious and people really weren't havin it....i respect him for it though, even though it wasn't shit

I dont see why a rapper would be considered a sell out for spitting some positive shit... I mean.. I think tha more positive you are, tha less you sale. Cuz most muthafuckers just wanna hear about Drugs, Guns, Bitches and Money.


And if you think about it.. alot of rappers already do spit positive shit. Most gangsta rappers have like 1 song on their albums tryna tell kids not to look up to their ways.. just in different words.



Maybe if you spit positive shit... and then start spittin gangsta.. then people start hating on you. Kinda like Xzibit.. accept he was never THAT positive.

yeah. there are alotta ways to be positive in rap music, without bein considered a sell out. but personally the only time i call an artist a sell out, is when your music sounds one way for a certain amount of time, and you change it to fit into the "pop culture". so basically just dissin their fans.
