^ dope sig.. been playing that a lot lately..

Yeah, it's great but unfortunately my speakers for my turntable aren't working so I can't listen to it.... I downloaded a bunch of the tracks though.

Most hip-hop is now keyboard driven, because the majority of hip-hop workstations have loops and patches that enable somebody with marginal skills to put tracks together,...

Unfortunately, most hip-hop artists gravitated towards the path of least resistance by relying on these pre-set patches. As a result, electric guitar and real musicians became devalued, and a lot of hip-hop now sounds the same.

That's ANOTHER Bullshit list.  Lemme tell you how to SPOT a bullshit list.  Any list that has the Rolling Stones ANYWHERE near the top of it, is Bullshit.  The Rolling Stones are a great band, with great music.  There are HUNDREDS of songs better than the greatest rolling stone song, though.

Any list that has Derek and the Dominos near the top is also a fanboy list.  Derek & the Dominos were a great band (lol, here we go again) but COME ON, MAN.  The best ever? THEY'RE NOT EVEN CLOSE!  Such a stupid list.  I could name 50 songs from Motown alone that are better than any Derek & The Dominos song.  Layla is great.  Is it better than Just My Imagination? My Girl?  Ain't No Mountain High Enough? You're All I Need To Getby?  Stop In The Name Of Love?  The Tracks of My Tears?  I'll Be There?   Motown alone shits on nearly their whole list.

Such a stupid list.  Maybelline in the top 20.  Yeah, right.  Anybody else think it's fishy that the top 2 songs revolve around the name of the magazine?

1. Here There & Everywhere - The Beatles
2. God Only Knows - The Beach Boys
3. In My Life - The Beatles

I'd do it something more like that.

"Like A Rolling Stone" was more groundbreaking, influential, and inovative than any of those three, AND, it was a hell of a great song. Don't believe me? Go read some John Lennon interviews regarding it.

Fuck that, it's not as good.  John Lennon was a drug addict who also thought Yoko Ono looked good, so I don't really trust John's opinion.

Good is relative. I won't even bother addressing the Lennon comment because you only say that when he disagrees with you. The bottom line is that there are millions out there that do think it was as good, and it was definately more influential, and creative than the three you mentioned. Combine all those and I have no problem with it being number 1. If it wasn't number one I wouldn't complain, but I have no problem with it being number one. There aren't any Springsteen songs near the top and you don't hear me whining. I could make an argument for Thunder Road or Born in The USA, but I wouldn't bother, because it's just a stupid list.

I don't know, I think Stairway is a great song and all but there's so many great songs out there. That's not even my favorite Zeppelin song to be honest.

point is, there are so many great songs, so many amazing songs that you can't compare like it's mathematics and put one above all others, another one above all except the first one and make a list like that. That's just impossible, especially when you have to trie to be as 'objective' as possible. To me, "Stairway To Heaven" are just eight of the greatest minutes in music history, but i wouldn't say "Stairway" >> any Marvin Gaye song for example, you just can't compare. But if I had to do a list I'd end up putting it as no. 1 i guess...there's just so much that is absolutely mind-blowing about this song, the guitar playing, the flute stuff and all its melodic aspects, the way the different parts of the songs are connected, the lyrics and how they mesh with the music at certain points of the song and finally what this overall is turned into...........but of course it's taste and there are other songs i could go on about like about this one, but overall i feel it's like the most.......complete and perfect piece of music there is

might be gettin slightly off topic, but which one(s) is/are better? I mean, "In Bloom", "Come As You Are", "Lithium" and others are all great songs, but them beating "Smells Like Teen Spirit", I can't see that. That's one of the greatest riffs (fuck whether its simple or not) I've heard, one of the greatest ways in which a song ever kicked in (those drums, goddamn, drum playing is dope overall), the way Kurt sounds on it...that's the definition of grunge rock for me and its best song...i don't disrespect your opinion, but i wonder what makes you like other songs on this (of course classic) album more or say they're better respectively

TRAUMA,
As much as you try to be this all-knowing, more mature than everyone in the world sort of guy, you actually come off as quite immature and stupid, and its quite obvious you are trying just a little too hard.  Give it up..........I am pretty sure most people on this board quit trusting your opinions when you were saying MJ's Invincible album was classic.

The list was not made up by the magazine. It was made up by a group of 172 voters, inluding producers, song writers, analysts, and was calculated with a points system.
