Outkast To Return To a Raw Rap Style

Word out of the Outkast camp is that the duo have a title for their next album: 10 the Hard Way. Big Boi has been saying in radio interviews that the album is in the process of being recorded and will feature 10 songs that return to a raw rap style. He and Andre 3000 still plan on dropping a soundtrack to their long-awaited — long, long-awaited — HBO movie, "My Life in Idlewild," beforehand. That movie is currently filming in North Carolina.

where did you hear/read that?

Anyways, Andre's much better at rapping than at singing (and better than Big Boi IMO), so it would be nice to see him get back to it, but unless you prove this source is reliable i will consider this a rumour, also cause Andre said in various interviews that he can't stand rap anymore...we'll see

This is on hiphopsite.com too.
If it comes out that way I see no reason why it shouldn't be an excellent album.
Herb Quote Of The Year[/u]

CalebOhio: I think i can speak for many others when i say my favorite rap artists are white but i still want black artists to be dope. they are chosing not to be. that wouldn't be a likely believe held in a white supremacist group. I want Nas to deliver evertime but he doesn't every time Sage does. so Sage gets my $15 regardless or his status. fuck your status perception and labels you use.

They are known for always going against the grain but how did they lose their raw rap style 'cause I don't think they did unless they are talking about taking it back to Southernplayalisticadillacmusic :o

Andre didn't lose his raw rap style on Love Below  ::) ?

I don't think they'll take it back to their first, I wouldn't even want them too, their most amazing ones were Aquemini and especially ATLiens

i've heard big boi saying a lot lately - stuff like "yeah dre's rappin again" , "the next album is gonna be back to the basics"...
I'll believe it when i hear it.  I think dre's too far gone to ever return to their classic style.  I was listenin to southernplayalistic the other day, when dre's talkin about his gun and pullin on blunts and shit.  Then you see where he is today, and its hard to believe they're even the same person.  Nobody would be happier than me if the took it back to just RAW rappin, ALL Organized noize production, and some appearance from goodie mob and sleepy.  But i don't think its EVER gonna happen.  Peace

exactly, outkast is a group that will only move forward, thats what makes them unique, while so many other artists are stuck tryin to sound like their first album or just struggling to sound good again, outkast has always evolved as time passes and came with tighter and newer shit. their kinda like dr.dre except dr dre is slow as fuck and takes a decade to make an album instead of a few years, and dont get it twisted, by comparing them to dre, i mean that they come with a whoolee brand new style each time they come around. nothing else
