Can Kurupt ever hit it big again??
« on: November 18, 2004, 10:47:44 PM »
i think kurupt is as good as any rapper that has ever spit a line in their life, and i have loved every solo album he's done, every dpg albbum he's ever done, i felt the originals cd, i like his riflemen shit, but my question is can kurupt ever shake up the rap game again like he did with streetz and space boogie or even kuruption??  back in 2000 kurupt was getting mainstream attention although he always kept it real and now most people probaly dont even know he is with tha row!

do you guys think kurupt can get back to platinum success ever again??

lmao @ destrorying anyone. that nigga is garbage. He was a good rapperin the chronic, doggystyle and dogg food era but that was over 10 yrs ago.  today, he raps shit that doesnt make sense. if u see him in person, you'll see how dude looks all fucked up. to much heroin.

streetz iz a mutha was a dope but album but ever since then he's hit rock botton. hes skillz are a piece of shit now and he is totally irelevnt.

I respect your opinion but shit - I just don't agree with that. At his best Kurupt has an aggression on the mic that kicks ass, but IMO he's never going to be a legendary MC.

As for hitting it big, I wouldn't hold my breath. His lyrics alone - even if he could regain his former hunger - isn't enough to carry off a track. His best tracks have been produced by names like Battlecat, Dre, Quik and of course Daz and Fred Wreck. Without a similar standard of track behind him I can't see him blowing up anytime soon.

I don't think Kurupt ever hit it big as a solo artist. Kuruption was the only album that recieved a plaque although Tha Streetz Iz A Mutha is a great album it wasn't even certified gold. I was disappointed in Space Boogie except for a few bangers. I had a good feeling about Against The Grain but it looks like it ain't never seeing a release date.

kurupt was one of the top 5 in the game from 92-96, but he has fallen off harder that prodigy of mobb deep.  His career is basically over.

I think with the relase of "we can freak it", he was at the height of his career.

we can freak it was cool but it was really the only song i felt off kuruption....i felt like the album had some good tracks but a lot of filler and for some reason was split into an east and west cd...kinda lame

tha streetz on the other hand is one of my favorite albums....very good all around though lyrics like (shut the fuck up bitch, eat a dick bitch, eat a bowl of shit bitch, munch on a mouth full of balls.....) were kinda lame and showed that as good as kurupt is....he can still make seriously wack rhymes. i would say the real high point of his career (as far as mainstream success goes) would be when he released Who Ride Wit Us....i heard that song everywhere...everyone was talking about it...then he just kinda fell off....that single he put out from space boogie was lame and nobody really heard from him since.

i doubt kurupt will hit big again....his last 3 albums weren't HUGE successes and since the west is being ignored for radio play he probly aint gonna blow...his skills aren't as bad as ppl say....but there still pretty wack compared to his old shit he'd spit in the death row days ... i dont think he'll ever be able to write shit like "stranded on death row"...plus i herd that "jeaolous ' song wit roscoe and m.o.p and his flow was pretty wack

he's made it "bigger" than a good 80%-90% of the rap industry.  Dogg food went over 3x platium.  plus he was involved in doggystyle and the chronic.  to say thats not makin it big is just ridiculous.
