Assuming you're not in college yet, you should consider applying to schools that are generally known to be diverse.

Like Engel said, it's an early start on the real world.

Personally, I've enjoyed going to diverse schools my entire life. I also think it's a huge benefit academically because when you go to a school with a good combination of different people, the teachers tend to teach you more things because they want their lessons to apply to every student equally.

Yes of course, there is no question about it in my mind.  I was born in India (very multicultural) and raised in the Middle East, Dubai, U.A.E specifically, which was also highly diverse.  Now I reside in Surrey (near Vancouver) B.C, Canada, which is full of so many different and unique people.  So I was raised in a very multicultural environment, even the city I’m living in now is highly diverse like I mentioned.  And from my experience, I think that it not only prepares you for the world (global village), but also educates you in ways text books and homework can't.  It isn't about whether or not it's "boring" to grow up around people of the same race or culture, it's simply fascinating and very educational to grow up around a variety of people who all have unique histories, cultures and beliefs.  It teaches you about communication, acceptance, tolerance, but also appreciation.  You learn about culture and religion, you see how these elements shape people and influence them into who they are.  You gather diverse opinions and perspectives and gain a better understanding of your fellow man.  So yeah, as a person who has had the opportunity to meet and grow up with so many different types of people from across the globe, I do honestly believe it has contributed something positive in my life and education.
