I mean really, you see nothing wrong with a 5 year old flipping through channels and he sees some porn?

What do you think will happend to that five year old if he sees porn on television?

I think of the future of the world with an ignorant ass question like that...

I agree with Trauma on the super bowl incident, i have no comment on fcc
"One day Alice came to a fork in the road and saw a Cheshire cat in a tree. "Which road do I take?" she asked. "Where do you want to go?" was his response. "I don't know," Alice answered. "Then," said the cat, "it doesn't matter."

Seriously, I'm not saying a five year old should watch that but what's going to happend to them if they do?  You don't have an answer, do you?

I want Nas to deliver evertime but he doesn't every time Sage does. so Sage gets my $15 regardless or his status. fuck your status perception and labels you use.

I was simply using porn as an example of something that could be deemed as "free speech".  Suppose he watched it, as many other kids with irresponsible parents who saw nothing wrong with their kids watching it.  Next, kids are trying what they see on t.v. as soon as their parts function like that.

Like I said, that was simply one example I used if people want to claim "free speech".  You have to draw the line somewhere.  I understand there is a degree of sex, violence, etc. on t.v. that kids have access to now.  It is the responsibility of the parents to monitor/prohibit viewing this.  And what is on t.v. now is within the guidelines.  Imagine if there were no guidelines!  Let kids be innocent for as long as they can be.

I'm just curious Toothpick, do you have kids?  If you do/plan on having them, would you let them watch anything that was on t.v. (porn, extreme violence, extreme cussing, torture)?

The problem is parents aren't being parents.

If I had a five year old I would block the channels that aired that kind of programming.  If something I didn't like suddenly appeared on television that I didn't want my kid watching like the Super Bowl halftime show I wouldn't let them watch television anymore if I felt that strongly about it.  It's pretty easy to deal with.

Exactly, parents aren't being parents.  And that is the exact reason why they shouldn't be able to air "anything they want" on t.v. due to "free speech".  If every parent did their job, then I would see absolutley no problem showing whatever networks put on television.  The problem is, a lot of parents do not do their job and that is why certain programs must be censored.

I agree... they shouldn't be allowed to just show ANYTHING on T.V.
However, you have to admit this country really needs to take a look at its values...

A massive intelligence failure... the result being thousands of dead Americans, and it takes about a year to get a panel together for the investigation.....

Janet Jackson shows her tit with a pastie on it, and within 6 hours there's an investigation going on...

LOL I don't know, but personally I think this is fucked up
