My theory for this effect is Bullshititis. See, once an individual is overwhelmed with all sorts of stories fantasies and falsehoods that is the American political system, he overdoses on the bullshit. The next few weeks are a downer as the confused American comes back to life.

Lets look forward to something nasty happening next week to get the blood flowing properly.
