AMSTERDAM - Owner Julie was feeling so attached to her cat Nicky, she got her cat cloned after he deceased. The costs? Over 35.000 euro (about $28.000). The nine weeks old cloned kitten was named Little Nicky.
The company Genetic Savings and Clone, responsible for the cloning, earlier on succesfully reproduced horses, goats and mice. This was the first time a cat got cloned.
The company, which exclusively clones pets, will start cloning dogs in 2005.
