Don't Think Dre Will Be On "Paid The Cost.."
« on: September 02, 2002, 11:54:17 AM »
Just a feeling I have.  Snoop seems to have this album just about done.  He hasn't mentioned Dre at all.  Not once have the words come out of his mouth.  Only back about 6 months ago we read that Dre will most likely be on the album.

I don't think there is any beef but I think they have shyed away from each other a bit.  With what Snoop said bout the J.D. beef may have dissapointed Dre.  Or it may just happend that Dre won't produce or rap on the new Snoop album.

What do you think?  Dre is caught up with "Oh My God" & "DETOX" right now...so..?

Why's that?  "Detox" is way down the line.  I'm sure Snoop will be on it unless there is some beef.

well dre and snoop got they own sorta relationship u know? like snoop duz somethang for dre and then then dre will do something for snoop

so i reckon if dre dusnt work on snoops album.........its obviously that eitha that snoop didnt want him on the album or dre didnt wanna work on it.........so when its time for detox dre will be like i dont need snoop for this if he didnt need me or snoop will be like he refused to produce for me so why would i rap for him u know??

but i jus hope dres on paid the cost......

and snoop on detox..........cuz ya just cant fuck with the illest pair not just on the west but anywhere

I don't get it y the hell did dre produce soo many tracks for busta rhymes and not even 1 track for his homie snoop. i don't snoop that snoop wouldn't want dre in his album cuz he knows he gets the best beats from dre.

Im so Glad u brought up this topic Incognito...I really wana know why dre is'nt gona be on Snoop album...Im wondering if dre iz mad at snoop for da truth so he decide to say fuck snoop!! i ain't doin shit for him or Snoop say fuck dre cuz he ain't down with the westcoast no more and he's being bias about the j.d and suge beef....i really would want a dre production but if not its not a big deal cuz dre have'nt produce nothing too special for iz home boyz since lately....even tho lay low was a hit i was'nt really feelin it...not to mention warren g single and mack 10...I think Dre is'nt down with the west no more cuz he have'nt had 1 artist from da west on iz label....I think still think da album gona be dope....da doggfather was dope without dre plus dre only produce 6 tracks for snoop last 2 albums and i've heard better tracks on da album from dj quick, battlecat etc...Remember even tho u guys don't like the neptunes but face it they doin there thang right about now...jazzy pha production iz tight..Meech made a massive improvement...that kid that produce for roca-fella (jus blaze) or something like that iz dope....battlecat iz dope....hi-tek iz fuckin dope....so dont be surprise if sells well....peace

I think the album still gonna be dope as fucc because when Dre produce for Snoop he only produce like 3 or 4 tracks thats it and for me Tha Doggfather album was classic and didnt have no Dre on it also Snoopy will have all the dopest producers in the rap game  on his album so its still gonna be off the hizzle so a Snoop album without dre wont kill nobody but a Dre album without Snoop could be weird as fucc

In a strange way Im glad that dre is not producing on the album.  dre has not made one beat in the last year or so that I have felt.  his beats on xzibit's shit was so basic. even on the last meal his beats were basic.  I think hi-tek,alchemist,rick roc, just blaze, fred wreck and a ton of others have been more consistant than dre.  multiply is geting no love out here in L.A.  the source was bashing dre for taking so long on rakim so snoop not fucking wit dre is no suprise.

Well, now that it seems Snoop said himself Dre won't be on this of course sucks...kind of.

The last time we heard Snoop and Dre together was the last song on "The Wash."  That has been 10 months ago just about.  In recent years Dre has provided some memorable moments on SNoop's albums.  "Bitch Please" def. brought the West up ahead in the line and got X into the mix of things with both of em.  On that same album Dre was really gearing up for "2001" which got me all excited hearing bits of his new sound.

IF THIS MEANS DRE GOTTA FORGO SNOOP'S LP TO GET "OH MY GOD" DONE QUICKER...AND GET "DETOX" MOVING...THEN SO BE IT!
Then a year later, when the West was rolling over everyone with "Restless" and "Tha Last Meal" Dre came with 3 fat joints and one funky intro.  "Lay Low" was a single and it was dope with Dre making that phone call in the beginning.

I don't know.  It looks like Snoop REALLY IS trying to move on as an artist like he said.  I guess maybe without Dre, just for this album prolly.

Still, he got producers to fill spots like Premier, Neptunes, Just Blaze, Fredwreck, Quaze and Battlecat.  Still though, this will feel pretty weird.
