In an interview with Hip Hop Connection magazine around the time Rassassination was released, Ras said that Nature of the Threat would have accomplished its task if it made one listener think about some of the topics it raises.

He went on to admit that some of the theories he discusses on the song are debatable, and that if he recorded the track today it woudn't be quite the same. But he said all the song was meant to be was a record of his own research into the history of oppression and colonialisation.

So yeah, some of the lyrics may not quite add up, but Ras made a brave move to make a song like this. His place in the Hip Hop Hall of Fame is cemented with thsi track. It's classic.

Most rappers woudln't have found their way to the library to evne research a song like this, let alone recorded and put it out. Big up ras for a dope ass hisotry lesson.

(Damn, sorry about all the spelling mistakes. I'd correct them, but I'm sitting here with a big old glass of wine, and... ;) )

Common (Sense) is one of the greats, as well.

I'm a Christain, and I know that Christ is Greek. Also, he mentioned who they painted a white picture of Jesus, which is true since Jesus was born in the Middle East, and is discribed as having bronze skin and wooley hair.

Racism is a discrimination of people against all those not in power, in the United States that'd be white, in Latin America that'd be Hispanics, in Asia that'd be Asians and so on. I know people think racism is racism, but the word reverse-racism exist for a reason, to seperate the differences of the two.

AIDS is man made... put in the ghetto's... humm... NO! AIDS was first in the homosexual community. It could have been contanted, but since it was a homosexual disease, Reagon at the time decided to ignore it, thus causing the disease to spread, not knowing the results. They never thought heterosexuals, let alone intercity people, would get infected.

Ras Kass showed tons of guts to release that song. It's amazing it's getting talked about now, since it was released 5 years ago. Oh well, better late than never. Other lines that are very hard for people to take.

Constantine would later see the cross in a dream
In his vision, it read "En Hawk Signo Wonka":
"In this sign we conquer" - Manifest Destiny

A consepted that fueled the United States expansion, killing many Native Americans. Though this is not how Manifest Destiny got coined, nor was this the thinking at the time of the United States.

They slaughtered a whole race with guns
Drugs, priests and nuns
1763, the first demonic tactic of biological warfare
As tokens of peace, Sir Jeffery Amherst
passed out clothin and blankets to the Indian community
Infested with small pox, knowin they had no immunity

Natives saw Priest as an escape, as many Priest were against all the killing. Whites also had no immunity to Small Pox. In the end though, was one of the worst slaughters in world history, as whole nations of people were cleaned from the Earth as if they never existed.

Cuz by 2050, almost all the Earth's population
will be brown, then black, so understandin that, whites counterreact
(I'm sayin.. man.. them fools
ain't nothin but a teaspoon of milk in the world color majority)
So they created a system
to force blacks into an unnatural position
That re-enforces the position of natural inferiority
In addition, created guns and developed the ethnocentric view
that God justifies every fuckin thing they do
Condition people to perceive whites' culture as civilized
and every other culture considered primitive - not true!

Old school thinking, but not very modern. And also, this is just the United States, 'cause most the world is Asian. And in the old way of thinking, they did not know that 2050 would be the year that minorities would be the majority, so many ideas in one that makes no sense.

They never teach about the break of islands like Jamaica
But before slaves came here whites would take a
pregnant women, hang her from a tree by her toes
Slice her stomach with a knife
and let the unborn baby fall to the flo'
And stop an unborn child in front of all the slaves
to inbreed fear, so they'd be scared and behave
and not rebel more

Also done in the United States.
