Subject:  Denver Colorado’s own 800 The Jewell (Producer/Artist) releases Colorado’s 1st International Rap Album with Sonic Wave International.


800 The Jewell a.k.a. Phillip Embry has been around the Colorado music scene as a Producer for the past 15 years.  He has worked with numerous groups/camps around Colorado, Texas, California, Mississippi, and New York.  He was mostly concerned about Colorado, due to the fact that it is hard to get airplay in the city.   

Phillip took heed at how a lot of local artist went about putting their music on the shelves, which is through consignment.  For some this does work, but 800 wanted more.  He wanted to be heard on a National level instead of a street level, so two years ago him and a friend invested in an agent.  This process was a hard one, while everyone else was pressing up and doing shows, 800 was in the studio (Jewelltyme Music) working and re-recording new material.  Finally, the call came in from one of the Sonic Wave A&R’s and it was all good.  800 finished up his album, “Only N’ Colorado” and headed strait for the Post Office.  Once Sonic Wave received his music, the owner Anand Bhatt responded by saying, “Job well done.”

800 worked on Gangsta O’s which album included E-40, Suga T, and Yukmouth.
He has also worked with Colorado legends such as Rie Rie, Sandman, Allison Wright, The Arapahoe Trues, Kut-N-Krew, Poetik, Parradox, Floss City, Shadow 626, Lett Loose, Phace, Mississippi Mac & Tony Bone, Quaylow, Monster Baby, Shae D. (Greeley), and a list of other artist’s and producers..
