What about xxplosive, light speed, forgot about dre, the next episode, lets get high? Those really had messages didnt they....

I think 2001 is overrated as hell, no classic in my mind. It was a compilation with dope beats. Alot of pointless songs with no messages. therefor no classics.

man what are some of u guys thinkin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
2001 blows the streets offa the fuckin map,,the streets really isnt a classic cd, its just a dope one there are so many dumb tracks on it like the one wit krs one and the dmx diss, that sounds like it was written by a 12 year old.........and where are the positive messages on the streets fool?  u dont need 2 talk about positive messages and bullshit 2 have a classic album

When did i say anything about postitive messages. I just said messages. In other words topics, concepts,meanings. Also I never listened to the streetz. I couldnt care less about kurupt. I just said 2001 isnt that great. Well it aint no hip hop classic.

i think that 2001 is the best album out since the great deathrow days and there hasnt been anything better than it yet!! its def a classic no doubt about that and i think that dre will soon show that he is only gettin better when he releases rakims cd and when he comes out with detox i cant wait 2001 straight classic and chronic no doubt straight classic hey hes 2 for 2 cant beat that who can you say has 2 straight classic albums like he has and i think he will go out with a bang on detox with a straight 3 for 3 classic albums!! in other words kurupt has a down ass cd with the streetz is a mutha but i dont think it was nearly as great as 2001.

2001 is better without a doubt.
This album is always credited with it's top notch production, however I think this is one of the best written albums.  Dre sounds as good as he ever has. (check "The Watcher")  Devin, Xzibit, Em all come thru.  And Hittman was amazin', nice enterance to tha game.
Very well written album.

  Streetz is still dope.  (It's just the second best album to come out that day)

I go with "Tha Streetz Iz A Mutha". I've never been a big Dre fan.

"2001" was commercialized rap at its finest
"Streetz Iz A Mutha" was gangsta rap at its finest, shit you could bang to in your car

I honestly can't choose one over the other. I mean, you gotta love Dre's shit, it's classic, even tho it's commericalized. And Kurupt came HARD on Streetz, gave us some of that gangsta shit that we hadn't heard in 3-4 years. Don't ask me which one's better... it's like askin me if I wanna do Shakira or J-Lo. Why not have a threesome, know what I'm sayin?

100% agreed. thats how i feel bout it. i cant chose one over the other, cause they both classics. and  nice comparison with J Lo LoL  :D

Well said. Except that I'd choose... like... Halle Berry instead of Jell-O.

But back on topic: 2001 is better. Streetz is good, REAL good, but 2001 is better.

2001 = 10/10

Streetz = 9/10

in my opinion

Man 2001 wasnt even westcoast music. That nigga dre suck for makin some westcoast music now. I hate the way he be comin wit those eastcoast beats and shiit. Kurupt shiit waz straight westcoast gangsta shit. Tha shiit i love. Kurupt album changed the game. It brought the westcoast back to the forefront. Kinda like dj quik did single handedly wit rythmalism. And please believe that. On da real fucc dre wit his wack ass eastcoast beats.

We all agree? I have my own opinion thanx  ;) And that is that although both were classics (imo) "2001" is better, like someone else said it was better written, had better direction in terms of the content and it was better produced all the way through. "The Streetz..." is by far Kurupts best album, and worthy of the classic tag, but it's not as special and groundbreaking as "2001" imo.

I think that if you take one of the 'O's' out of 'Good' it's 'God', if you add a 'D' to 'Evil' it's the 'Devil'. I think some cool motherfucker sat down a long time ago and said 'let's figure out a way to control motherfuckers'.

whuttever.... "cuzzzzzzzzz"...... keep that shit on the DPG forum pppplllllllleaaaaaaaase.....

p.s.

Streets cant touch 2001.

kurupt aint a lyricist because he can string a few words that end in ---actical together......example.

"The tactical acrobatical automatic
Automatically psychosomatics that got it verbally guided"

means????

he's a verbal missle........ in waaaaay tooo many words

I love both albums and think they are both really tight classics.  Streets reminded me a bit more of the classic shit we got from DR back in the day.  It would really be hard to choose one over the other.  I don't really understand how 2001 was groundbreaking though.  I could bump both albums everyday and not grow tired of them.
