THE US Defence Department has been asked to investigate a website being used by American soldiers to post grisly pictures of Iraqi war dead.

The site, which has been operating for more than a year, describes itself as "an online archive of soldiers' photos".

Dozens of pictures of decapitated and limbless bodies are featured on the site with tasteless captions, purportedly sent in by soldiers.

Captions include "plastic surgery needed", "road kill" and "I said dead".

So now we add further embarassment to the country during our Iraq exploit.  This is really going to win over the hearts and minds of the iraqi people and the rest of the muslim world.

You do realize that you need at least a high school diploma to be in the military.

The result being that the general military population is more educated than the general population.

Wrong again...you forgot about this link.

Nonetheless, under pressure to sign up about 80,000 soldiers a year, the Army two years ago increased its share of nongraduates, from 5% to 10% of recruits. The Navy did likewise.

http://www.armedforcescareers.com/articles/article22.html

Each of the services strictly limit the number of high school dropouts (which includes GED holders) who can enlist each year. This is because years of military enlistment statistics have shown that this category of enlistees fail to complete their entire first term of military service at about twice the rate of those with a high school diploma or those with college credits.

The Air Force is the most strict on this matter. The Air Force allows less than one percent of annual enlistments to be recruits without a high school diploma. The Marines have the next highest standards. No more than five percent of Marine recruits can be GED-holders. The Army allows no more than ten percent each year, and the Navy limits GED enlistments to no more than five to ten percent each year.

There are always many, many more GED-holders who want to enlist than there are available slots, so -- even to be considered -- a GED holder must score much higher on the ASVAB, than a high school diploma recruit.

However, if a recruit has 15 or more college credits, he/she is in the exact same enlistment category as a high school diploma holder.

I read somewhere that 95% of employers consider G.E.D. = High School diploma.

Even so, 6,000 people is such a tiny percentage of the entire armed forces, it renders your argument void.

man... what you expect... these people are in war. Now I'm not about to click the link, but I will say that in war, soldiers are known to step out of charactor. We are going to have a group of men that are going to need lots of help, like in Vietnam, in dealing with war and death. These men and women out there are risking life for our agendas, so of course in their head it's my life or his. So I am not surprised, as many great men have done so stupit shit because of war. We risk our men's mentalities over this, I hope the people that are getting off on this are ok with our men going through this shit.
