LYRICS - Rakim - After You Die
« on: February 16, 2005, 08:04:52 PM »
I didnt like this at first, but, after listening to it and writing the lyrics.  This is some next level shit

Rakim's verse's only, feel free to suggest corrections

You ever sit back and get a little too high?
Start thinking about what happens to you when you die?
Does your soul rest where your coffin is?
Or is death just a metamorphosis?
Does life go on in a mental form?
If we live a good life, will we get reborn?
Is it a heaven or we trapped in hell?
Where do we go from here?
Nobody came back to tell
If we reincarnated or parish in time?
Could you shine when darkness inherits your mind?
Any your eyes closed for good, you out the galaxy now
Is this a subconscious dream our reality now?
Missing a brain with no physical frame,
Could we return to the hood on a spiritual plane?
Ask yourself if you die tonight, am i prepared for what's Afterlife?

Could we come back?
Do we get left in the past?
Fuck that, I'm gonna kick death in the ass
Become one with the Creator
Till my mind is greater
Get insight so i can design the fine (raider?)
To my third eye, give me a bird's eye view
Focus to my ????? on the curb ?????
Watching you mourn my death like a lost of time
But wit you even don't cross your mind
When you pour out liquor i'm catching coniyac
When you pull out a spliff i'm catching a contact
Try to look after my people, thats trapped in evil
Playing craps and ???? to get gats and kilos
And do some of the things i love to do
Hang out on the streets, throw it up in a club or two
Seek women and catch them in they wildest dreams
Possess them, make them do the wildest things
And my peeps what i'm gonna do is pray that you rest
And my kids, Keep them away from the angel of death
So, just in case if i pass tonight...
Yo, i'm prepared for what's Afterlife
