anyone like spoken word?
« on: February 24, 2005, 02:06:07 PM »
seems like the spoken word scene is  definitely feel its beginnning to make its way slowly but surely toward the mainstream, especially with the popularity of def poetry jam and their tour. i knew something was really up when mcdonalds decided to use some (admittedly lame and shamelessly culture-pillaging) spoken word in their latest ad for salads (or some other wannabe down and healthy crap like that)!!!....and then this.....what i think is one of the  first commercially released spoken word DVDs (please school me to others if i'm wrong...) called "The Ill List" by WordGroove studios in the bay area...
thoughts?
