I am not arsed who dre works with along as he brings out the best in them and they bring out the best in him.

As long as he keeps making them dope beats I will never have a problem who he works with

"Family Affair" is a classic beat in my opinion.  Just imagine having someone like Snoop Dogg, Eminem or Xzibit rapping over that track.  Dam.

See, you hit the nail on the head man - it AIN'T Snoop, Em or X on that beat - it's Mary J Blige. No offence to fans, but Mary's music does NOTHING for me, and so knowing Dre produced Family Affair does nothing for me, just like knowing a film director I like made a wack film doesn't make me like that movie.

If Dre used all his beats for his own crew(s), and put that music out more often, it would mean more than selling left overs to artists that a significant proportion of his fan base couldn't give a fuck about.

I agree 100%.  It's like Samuel L. Jackson is a great actor, and he is in the movie Shaft.  Shaft is a completely horrible movie so it is like a waste of using Samuel L. Jackson.

See, the thing is not to dick-ride. It's all about context and personal choice. I'm a Dre fan, but that doesn't mean I think every Dre beat is classic. Just like you might love Samuel L Jackson's work, but if he fucks up it's up to the fans to say "Dude, you fucked up."

Not that I got a problem with Mary on "Family Affair," it was very tight.  But, it would be nice to hear rappers tear it up on that track.  Also...I think Dre gave her that beat for FREE, cause I know Mary recorded her part on 'The Message" for free.  So maybe in return Dre gave this to her, cause I know they were not in the studio together when Mary recorded the track, she said.

Your Wife was dope in my opinion

Anyway Eve and Busta Ryhmes ain't pop they ARE rappers, just not the ones Dre usually works with.
And Mary J. Blige is RnB and I don't see what's wrong with working with RnB artists a few times.
Mya is a waste in my opinion but that doesn't make Dre a industry hoe.
Dre for shure didn't say working with RnB artists a few times although u be a hiphop producer makes u an industry hoe.
In fact RnB is part of HipHop.

Dre himself defined an industry hoe as someone who was willing to work with a gang of different people in the industry, and swore he'd never become one (it was in the cover story in The Source a few years back, I don't have it to quote directly.)

Dre has always done music for all forms of hip hop.  So do you have beef with Mya then..is that the deal?  Cos Mya is talented and fine as hell on a side note.

not to change the subject, but, a while back I thought I saw a pic with Dre and N' Sync together.  LOL.  Our worst nightmare may just be around the corner. :P

going? hehe

btw.. truth hurts wasnt that special... lots of rehashed rnb formulas. well done, but nothing amazingly new ... apart from addicitive.

Agreed.. Truth Hurts was a nice change from your avarage R And B album.. you gotta admit but not what I expected.  Dre Quote: "This shit is gonna change the game.."  hhhmmm.. ???

It was mentioned in a previous post that Dre's 2001 formula was tired and played out.. I totally agree.. Im not diggin this Mya thing.. and if Dre keeps puttin himself out there like that.. people will have less interest in what he does.. not to mention put less value on his work.  Thats the thing that Dre shouldnt loss is the value that fans put on his music.  IMO, this move de-values his shit and thats WACK.

Again, that remix with Jadakiss & Fabulous wasn't recorded with Dre.  It's something Mary decided to do.

I just think Dre is starting to ride out his "2001" sound, he has been using it since '99.  I think we'll get a taste of his "Detox" sound on "Oh My God."  And get a full delivery somewhere in 2003.

Are you serious???  If Dre worked with N Sync then I would lose all respect for him.  I mean he turned down Micheal Jackson, one of the greatest in the music industry, yet he decides to work with Eve, Mary J. Blige, Mya, Busta Rhymes, etc.  I don't understand his decisions in the past few years.

So if u loose your respect for him then he´s music wont sound dope in your ears??? I dont give a fuck if he was white and the producer 4 Backstreet Boys!!! Good HipHop IS good HipHop no matter what!!

Peace
