Nas next single is "Unauthorized Biography Of Rakim"
« on: March 24, 2005, 09:40:10 PM »
Nas announced that he had just shot the video for the single U.B.R. (Unauthorized Biography of Rakim), it should be out really soon.

'The next rhymebook is definitely KRS One for the next album, I'm putting that together now', Nas said.
As for his other projects, he mentioned that he was currently working on Quan's album but also with other MCs. 'I'm still working on my lil' man Nashawn' Nas revealed, 'I had to leave him back for a minute 'cause he was not tryin' to focus but he's getting hungry again, he's ready.'

When asked about other songs to appear on his next album, Nas warned 'Watch out for for 'These are our heroes pt. 2 cause a lot of names are left out.'

A lot of people dislike this track but it was one of my favorite tracks from Street's Disciple. I know this ain't going to be a hit but I hope this new generation of fans hear this song and get some history about one of the true legends in hip hop, Rakim.

Nas is at a point were every other rapper only dreams of being. He has sold enough, and has made enough classics and beaten the right people that he can call his own shots. His career falling out, he released shit like Ochie Wally and Shorty. Now that he redid his career, beat Jay-Z, released his 2nd classic and sold platnum off of a pure hip-hop album in Stillmatic, basically Nas is selling real hip-hop. And no one can question him, because that was his most sucessful formula to selling. Props to the King of New York, 'cause until someone beats him, his got the crown. Just like Snoop, no one has taken their crowns, and they aren't giving it up.

Am I the only one here who thinks this is one of the weaker cuts on the album? I liked Eric B and Ra's version of this beat a lot better. It's good anyhow to pay respect to the legends in a way that could also reach younger people. Got to give it to Nas.

About Nas releasing 4 non-commercial singles in a row... Man, there's not even 4 commercial tracks on the whole damn double album  ;D

I was just about to post that.  Looks like 2 of us think that.
