^^^ We'll have to agree to disagree on this one ;) Honestly, I rarely bump this CD the whole way through anymore. I know I'm in the minority cuz everyone else holds it as a 5/5 classic. It just doesn't do it for me beyond 'Bitch Niggas'.

I'll agree with you on Murder Ink, it's not more than a 3.5/5 imo. That's one "average" track, even though it isn't even that bad, on a classic album. However, I still find 2001 one of the weakest classics out there. I could sum up a whole bunch of albums that are better than this.

the fuck it should be way higher than #50, seeing as everybody afterward tried to copy its entire style.

sorry, but that's definately east coast bias

One thing I gotta say is that all the top 50 are perfect or near perfect qualitywise so influence and impact play a very large roll in the order.  I could probably very easily switch this with number 34 or something like that.

sorry, but that's definately east coast bias

i think the album falls off near the end in the sense that everything from 1-12 or 13 were kinda like all time classic joints......if they wernt their and the ones at the end were at the top of the album, itd still be sick but when compared to how sick the first 60-65% of the album, it does fall off a slight bit......the first half of this album is perfect, from beats, flow, lyrics, nobody comes off weak in a single verse to me

best drop from aftermath

^true... I also agree with someone else in this thread that while 2001 is classic, it is one of the weakest classics out there. I remember during the first week I got it I bumped it everyday. Now it is rarely in rotation let alone the fact that I can only listen to the album from 1-13. As far 2001 being #50 ... I am not too sure about that I believed it should be higher.
