No samples used? A friend of mine I listened to Ghostwriter with, swore he recognised the sample. That's surprising.

i'm pretty sure he uses samples... like fx in Smoke & Mirrors he sample the voice..

but from what i know he makes all the drums himself on a computer... they are amazing

Smoke & Mirrors contains a sample..vocal interpolation..whatever from Marion Black's "Who Knows" (the singing "who knows what tomorrow will bring..." is taken from that song).
